I saw Loreena perform this live in London, Ontario this past December 4th at a local church. It was a wonderful, intimate concert of music and storytelling – food for the soul!

Hi Tobi, That makes 2 London, Ontario fans! I’m from London and I’ve been part of the MLT club for about 2 1/2 years. You will love it here!

A very happy birthday to you, Papa Rudi, and thank you for all you do!

Happy birthday to Maddie! She is a lucky girl to have such a fun party with people who love her! May she grow into as lovely a young lady as our dear Mona and Lisa!

Thanks for mentioning Ian Tyson. He and Sylvia were wonderful.

Gordon Lightfoot is another one of our Canadian treasures for sure. This haunting song is one of my favourites. Such a beautiful melody and exquisite imagery!

I don’t think so, Tom. Sarah Mclachlan has worked with a cellist named <b style=”font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; color: var(–bb-body-text-color);”>Vanessa Freebairn-Smith and Loreena McKennitt’s cellist is Caroline Lavelle. The two women do have a similar look although Caroline is older than the other. Sarah is another wonderful Canadian performer. My daughter had the honour of presenting with Sarah during the 2019 Juno awards ceremony. It was a real thrill for us to meet her and discover what a down to earth person she is!

Loreena lives about a 45 minute drive from me in Stratford, Ontario. Her son attended the same elementary school as my daughter. She is an exceptionally bright, articulate person and I’ve had the pleasure of conversing with her at school potlucks in the park. She once did a benefit concert for the school in the school’s Great Hall – a room that holds no more than 150 people – very intimate and lovely.

It was amazing. Cedric Smith did a dramatic reading of “A Child’s Christmas in Wales” by Dylan Thomas in the second set, interspersed with musical numbers. Completely magical evening.

I got them all except for the cable drum from Liverpool cables. Well done, Allan! That was a fun challenge and very cleverly put together!

Happy New Year to you, Jung, and to all club members! Love the photo!!!
