Sorry, I might have posted in the wrong place. It was meant for you Jaci. You said if anyone had Denny Doherty’s album to let you know. So I put an email so you could send me a mailing address and I will mail you the CD if you would like.

Welcome Jeff! Good to have you here!
I agree about the Kink’s songs. It would be great to hear more. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve listened to “Tired of Waiting” today. I don’t remember hearing the song before, but like many of MLT’s covers I might have overlooked it until hearing it done with their magic touch. I usually go back after hearing one of their covers and track down the original and am either disappointed or unimpressed in comparison. “God Only Knows” is that way. I’m sure I heard the Beach Boys version before and was never impressed enough to even remember it. Now, the MLT version is one of my favorite songs ever. The same with most of their Beatles covers. Some of the originals I liked, but NOW – WOW! Add that yellow and red MLT magic flavor and it’s gone from scrambled eggs to an incredible omelet. Not that the Beatles or any of these groups are scrambled eggs. Just an analogy of how much flavor and beauty MLT adds. I’ve never loved the Beatles or other groups more than I do now. And with this forum, I’ve discovered some great songs and groups I wasn’t aware of until now.

Welcome Keith!
Sounds like my similar journey a year ago. It was a Beatles search and running across “Drive My Car” that hooked me. “Please Please Me” is one of my favorites too. Each new video was like a new gourmet meal. I totally agree about their Christmas album. I think their new song and video is the best Christmas song I’ve ever heard. The other songs are great and Santa Baby makes me smile every time I think of it or hear it.
Such great humor and creativity and professionalism in all that they do. Their skills and beautiful voices just awe me. But the combination of everything, like you mentioned, is what most gets me. Great skills, great voices, great people. Such an awesome family. Add to that the wonderful people here and it is exactly like they describe it “The grooviest place on the internet”.

Joshua and Michael. Thank you so much for sharing these stories. The healing influence and energy of Mona, Lisa, the family and their music is amazing. So many lives touched. Their gift to the world just keeps on changing lives and making them better. Not sure how I would have made it through the last year and especially the last few weeks without their beautiful music and inspiration.

I think that video is brilliant and I learned to really like it. At first it through me off a little. I hated so much to see Mona do the sad face. She’s quite an actor. Both are. The joy they share with the world is a contagious and healing influence. Michael Jackson might sing about healing the world, but Mona and Lisa’s skills, singing and beautiful voices actually do it.
I love all their music and their video production is genius but in particular the latest videos and duo-sessions are amazing. Their voices and guitar skills increase by the day. Not that they weren’t incredibly talented at even their concerts at 13 years old, but like a fine wine, they just get better by the day. If only we could bottle it.
I was always a little jealous that I was too young for Woodstock. Glad you had the chance to have that experience. I’ve only passed through NJ a couple times on business, but have some great friends there.
Welcome to the club here. I’m so glad I found it about a year ago.

“A Bridge Over Troubled Waters” would be amazing. Now that you’ve taken two songs off my top ten list I have to add more 🙂 “Imagine” and “It Ain’t Me Babe” are spectacular.
I had a distressed call yesterday saying the plow hadn’t shown up for our clinic parking lot. My first thoughts were no……. It Ain’t Me…. I reluctantly fired up our backup plow for a long drive. Then your music made it an enjoyable, wonderful experience! Thanks again for your wonderful music.

By the way Howard and others from down under. You’ve been on my mind and I’ve been concerned over this fire situation. How are you doing? I had my office building destroyed by a fire years ago, so it kind of strikes close to home for me.

I’d love to play the guitar along with them, but the drums is something I could come up to speed on. Any 60’s song would do. Performing would be cool, but I think it would be more fun to hang out with them practicing and perfecting or creating a song. With the “Talent/skills not withstanding” caveat, I’d love to sing along with them. Twist and Shout would be cool.

Greatest Rock Song? I’d just bet it is being written right now in the brains of Mona and Lisa (of course with the assistance of Rudi and Michaela).

Yes, I agree. I looked for other versions after Mona and Lisa did theirs. I ran across Celine’s which I had never heard before. I love Celine and her voice is majestic, but I’ll take Mona and Lisa’s harmonies over anyone’s. Celine has power and amazing technical prowess. Mona and Lisa have a beauty to their voices that is nearly incomparable. They’ve given me such a greater appreciation of some of the groups and duos out there. I’ve known some wonderful opera and other singers with amazing voices, but I can’t think of any I think are as beautiful as the twins. Kind of brings Carol King to mind as I think of it. Not a “knock you off your seat” spectacular voice, but beauty and feeling behind it that is rare.
At first the beauty of their harmony struck me very hard. Yet, as I’ve listened more and more to solo sections where one of the twins is singing I’m more impressed every time. Their music to me is like a chocolate éclair. Wonderful outside and then bite into it and an incredible filling (depending who makes them). Their technical skills and creativity as musicians filled with the beauty of their voices. Better than any treat or dessert.

Beautiful song. I had never heard it or heard of it. I’d have to agree that “The Snowman” movie didn’t play much in the US. Yes, too many Christmas movies, comedies and commercial programs. Gone are the days of some of the classics and the annual viewing of “It’s a Wonderful Life”. But we don’t absolutely need that movie anymore. We have Mona and Lisa to remind us how beautiful Christmas and this world can be. Great job MonaLisa team.
This album is like the “11” days of Christmas. Each day I open up a new song and enjoy the excitement of a new musical present. Much better than as a kid when my big presents were usually the no longer new skiing equipment I’d been racing on for two months – with a bow on it.
So glad they got that early snowfall and could do that wonderful video of their new original song.

Just received my Christmas CD moments ago. Importing to iTunes right now….. Yeah! You’re right, it is beautifully produced as far as graphics, etc. Love their new song. Their voices and harmonies just get better and better.

Welcome!
Glad you found your way here. My intro to MLT was the “Drive My Car” video. Then each new video cemented my interest and admiration of their skills and qualities. “My Guitar Gently Weeps” is a favorite too. Many of their covers have been new to me. Some songs never hit big on the radio in the US or even made it at all. Others I might have heard but not been interested in or “Captured” by.I find myself kind of “Biting my Tongue” so to speak or restraining my typing fingers as I do not want to be mugged by Beatles fans or others. The reality is I have not heard one cover song by Mona and Lisa that I don’t like better than the original – MUCH better. I was just listening to their newest song last night “Here There and Everywhere“. I can’t recall ever hearing it from the Beatles or others. I searched out every other copy and artist’s version and it left me un-impressed.
I’m not sure I would have been interested in the original versions or other artists at all, but Mona and Lisa’s version is wonderful. The version by Celine Dion comes closest. She has a powerful, technical voice – but to me Mona and Lisa’s voices and Harmony are just plain beautiful. I like the recent comment about how they “could sing the phonebook” and it would be wonderful. They could sing in “Klingon” and I’m sure it would be amazing.
My German is far too rusty at the moment, but their German Christmas song is just stunning. I missed their Christmas calendar last year, but someone directed me to the “TIDBITS” section on this site and it is towards the bottom. Their early version is wonderful, but their updated “polished” version of “Leise Rieselt Der Schnee” is the coolest winter song there ever could be. I was pleased to see it on the new Christmas album.https://test2.monalisa-twins.com/leise-rieselt-der-schnee-2018/
I had never heard of “The Best Years of Our Lives” by Steve Harley. The MLT version is stellar. Several Beatles songs I didn’t know or had forgotten like “I’ll Be Back“, “If I Fell“, “The Night Before” and even “I’ll Follow the Sun” are so very, very well done. I’m not sure I even remember the Beach Boys “God Only Knows” from before, BUT…. I sure know it now (utterly amazing song and video).
I’ve never listened to as much Beatles music as well as the other artists I didn’t know or have an interest in as I do now. I really appreciate the love of music Mona and Lisa have shared and has grown in me. It adds so much to my life I have missed. I feel a little like Jonathan Livingston Seagull if anyone remembers that book. He experienced soaring in the clouds and floating on the winds and then tried to share it with others. They were just interested in pecking at worms and occasional fish (kind of like much of today’s music). It would be nice to have someone around who was excited about the Christmas album that just arrived – but I’ll have to share it here – with the “Enlightened Ones”. Yea, putting it on my phone now…. cool….

Ok, this one might be out of the 60’s era and out of the normal groove of MLT, but I can see them doing it. The tune was first written and done in 1975 by the British band “The Arrows” and then covered by others. Their version is nice but one of the covers made it famous. I love all of Mona and Lisa’s music – especially the Beatles love songs. BUT….. I think they’ve shown they can rock right up there with the best of them. Because they “love rock and roll.” Of course the song is “I Love Rock and Roll” written by Arrow’s Alan Merrill and Jake Hooker.
The most famous version of course is Joan Jett’s. Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus and others that have covered it have paled in comparison. Not saying they have to ride in on Harleys – or Triumphs since they are in Britain – or dye their hair black, but I think they could do an amazing version as powerful or more than Joan Jett’s. Just a thought.
