Looks like Good times! Driving through Alberta, in a red Mustang listening to the Turtles. I went up there years ago on a Honda 750. All that was missing was the Turtles, but I’m I know there was old groovy Rock music playing loud – probably the Beatles. 2500 miles in 7 days left parts of me numb that never had been before. Took a full day in the Hot Springs at Banff to try to loosen up and recover from the cold rain all through Idaho.
The Canadian Rockies are so beautiful and majestic. Oh Canada! My home away from home. True patriot love from all thy friends command ( how we would sometimes sing it )

Yes, it’s called the “Garage Grill” in Draper, Utah (next to Salt lake City) at:
I guess it’s done real well and they are opening another even larger one with more cars. Must be nice to have a few hundred million in extra cars just hanging around – literally.

Had an amazing “Petrol-head” experience a few weeks ago. I’d heard my nephew was managing a car themed restaurant but hadn’t been there yet. I was told the owner was into racing and some of his cars were there. Assumed a couple old busted up cars or something.
Walked in to see $100,000,000 – one hundred million dollars of cars on the walls, ceiling etc. champion Formula cars, exotic racers, Super-cars. …… still a little stunned….. time for another dinner and maybe this time I won’t be too awed to even take a picture or 2 ….. hundred.

Hi Angelo,
I’ve really enjoyed your posts and presence here. I especially like having those around like yourself with musical talent and tales. I enjoy checking in here to learn and to see what’s new with my two favorite artists (and family). There are lots of talented people out there and plenty in my local area, but to me there is something very unique about Mona and Lisa. Their fans and friends are pretty cool people too. I’m very sad to see you go, but hope we can see more of you as time goes on. Take Care. – John

Thanks Mona! Love your last two videos and am anxiously waiting for the Christmas album. Usually I’m not big on Christmas music as it is playing everywhere and all pretty much the same. Now we’ll have the variety and beauty of your music in our home, office and the homes and cars of our employees. I’m thinking we’ll give them out to each new customer in December also. It’s not totally just a “Santa” type gesture. I’d love to create a big enough local fan base that you could arrive here for another “British Invasion” or an “Austrian-British Invasion.” I can envision you getting off the plane and waving to your screaming crowd of fans 🙂 At least that’s the way it ought to be anyway. The world deserves as much of the MLT Magic as it can get. Imagine.

I’ve enjoyed the songs posted or referenced here. Some I hadn’t heard for years – or ever. I ran across one I had long forgotten that I’ve loved for years. It may or may not be a good cover to do, but it’s sure worthy of listening to and knowing about. It’s by Gene Clark, one of the founding members of the Byrds and previously with the New Christy Minstrels. At the first he was the primary writer for the Byrds and at least one song for the Turtles. The song is titled “Silent Crusade.” I’d been wondering about the song for years and saw Gene Clark’s name. I remembered one of the lines “Sail On” and thankfully the search led to it.

Welcome Kenneth! My sentiments exactly. The very same video grabbed me and never let go. Video after video it just got better and better. What they do on stage is infectious and what they do in the studio is magical.

She did a great job. A lot of confidence for 11 years old. Tell her I thought it was excellent!

Ok. I’ll never believe that neighbor again 🙂 Or maybe it was extended again. Anyway Ticketmaster is still selling tickets so maybe there is still time to head to Vegas.

It may be too late Ron. A neighbor of mine flew down a few weeks ago to see what she said was their last show. I was a little sad as I might have made the trip if they had more shows. I’ve gotten to know a few of the Osmonds over the years and used to run into Donny at the market occasionally. Those I’ve met are as nice as their image makes them out to be.
I kind of missed out on their popular period, but was in Canada at the time just a few years after the older two brothers had been there. We ran into the “mania” a lot though. Teen girls had posters all over their walls and hoped to marry Donny some day 🙂 I ran into one that it actually saved her life. She was suicidal one day and the influence of Donny caused her to seek out help. Shortly after that we took her to hear a really inspiring speech by Randy Bachman. I’d previously heard the story of “David Lofchik” from Zig Ziglar and one of the things Randy shared was the update of where David was at many years later. From cerebral palsy to competing for “Mr. Manitoba” Canada.

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving Jacki, Jung and other Canadians. I seemed to have missed that with 2 years in Alberta. I remember celebrating during the US time period, but not a separate Canadian one. Either I was oblivious and missed it or maybe it isn’t as popular in Calgary? Back in those days there was a lot of division between East and West – at least in Alberta.
Thanksgiving in the states focuses (at least the story) around one event. Is there an event in Canada that their Thanksgiving focuses around? Sorry, I should know, but it’s been a few years (decades).

Oh yes, everything but St. Elmos Fire. I guess that has to move up my list. Breakfast Club was a classic. A lessor known, but I think excellent Judd Nelson film was “From the Hip.”

Totally agree about the Righteous Brothers. Both songs would be fabulous with the MLT magic. I also like the Hollies’ song “Look Through Any Window” more every time I hear it. That one had passed me by also. I wish my older sister had had a broader taste in music and bigger budget for records.

When I was a kid the favorite was “I Want to Hold Your Hand.” Then in my early teens it was “Here Comes the Sun.” We would listen to the 8-track on the way up skiing. It was going to be the first song on the ski film I was making (until I lost my brother’s camera in an avalanche). Then the movie would have transitioned to “No Time” by the Guess Who.
The Beatles were short lived for me as I was a 70’s teen, but grew up with an older sister. If I only knew what I did now, I would have begged her to buy more Beatles albums. She liked her parties and the one or two albums she had were stolen.
My teens were 70’s bands. When “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” came out “Twist and Shout” took over the top spot.
I’m embarrassed among all the Beatles fans here to admit I didn’t know “If I Fell” or “I’ll Follow the Sun” until I heard Mona and Lisa’s version. I’d have to say those two tie for first for me now.

OK, I take it back. I said it was “one of the most beautiful bikes I’ve ever seen.” Nope. It is THE most beautiful bike I’ve ever seen. Performance figures are pretty amazing too. Checking it out tomorrow.
