Welcome Paul.  Save me a seat in that front row.  I’ll head to Michigan if need be or any state they play a concert in.  If I have to go to Europe then I’ll do it.  I spent a week in Ireland and England some time back.  First and only time I’ve had to be frisked going into my hotel (Belfast).  It would be nice to visit without the bomb squad trying to blow up our car 🙂  No one told us we couldn’t leave out car un-attended to go shopping in Belfast.  So a visit again would be a little less stressful and hearing the twins play would be worth the travel anywhere.

Deep Purple has always been one of my favorites.  “My Woman from Tokyo” still rings in my ears from how loud I played my car stereo.  I recall Mona and Lisa saying how they played “Smoke on the Water” for hours.  Boy would I love to hear them play that one.

I remember, if a live band was worth their salt in my high school days, they would have that song in their playlist.  Listening to It on YouTube now.

    Welcome to the MLT club!

    Welcome Bill!

I echo your comments here.  Great place, great people, fabulous music and skills.  It’s beyond just good music.  They are tremendous artists and care about their fans and friends.  Glad to see you here and that you’ve found the treasure of their music and the great people making it.

Not 60’s but mellow, nice guitar tracks and good harmony.  Not their biggest hit, but the album “Home” by Blessed Union of Souls went platinum.   Not sure how well they were known outside the US and I had never heard of them, but a friend had the CD and I loved it and bought it.   I love the track “Forever For Tonight” — 5:08 (Eliot Sloan, Jeff Pence).

Boy that TT250 Suzuki sure brings back memories.  My second motorcycle was a TM250 a few years later than the TT250 and Suzuki’s first attempt to conquer the dirtbike market.

Wow.  I haven’t heard “Forever Young” in ages.  Great song.  I knew I was more familiar with another version so I searched and I think it was the Joan  Baez version.  I love her voice with this.   Hearing Rod’s version my first thought was how Mona and Lisa’s voices would go with it.   After hearing Joan’s version Ithink they could do an incredible version of this beloved song.

Ok.  I’m going to have to swing by the Triumph dealer and check that out.  That Tiger is one of the most beautiful bikes I’ve seen.

I didn’t mean to overlook their live version of “Wonderful Tonight” that was great.  Can’t find the video of “Tears in Heaven”, but the audio is very well done.

The Cream video of the Royal Albert Hall 2005 concert is here.

It might be out of the normal groove of covers, but anything by Cream or Eric Clapton is on my list.  I’m listening to “Sunshine of Your Love” and other songs from the 2005 Cream concert in Royal Albert Hall right now…….  wow….

Thanks Jung.  I’ve enjoyed your post for months.  I have a special love for Canada so your and Jacki’s posts kind of stand out.  Spent a couple years in Alberta and still tear up a little when I hear “Oh Canada.”  An incredible country and people that I miss.

Love your mustang Jung.  I remember well when it came out.  I was proud of Ford again.  At the time I had my Chevelle my brother came back from Ireland and bought a Mustang II fastback and my dad bought what I think they called a Mustang II Ghia.  HOW SAD!!!!  How whimpy.

In the 60’s my brother had one of the originals.  I think 64, maybe 66.  Dark blue and ultra cool.  Made me drool.  Probably a 3 speed 289 but fast enough to corrupt the brain of a little kid.  Speed is cool, I wanted some too.

I was so glad they made it a muscle car and a cool car again.

Thanks Howard.  I’ve always posted under my real name, but not much and without a picture.  A few months ago sitting at my computer was too painful, so I mostly just read the posts on my Ipad.  I feel better each day and get around more.  We are all getting feeling a little better and my two sons just entered college and are having a great time.  I’m fortunate that with them “A great time” is safe, happy fun.  Now if they would only discover good music.  “Marshmello??”  I’ve learned to like OneRepublic and some of the others they like.

I guess “Born to Wander” was a personal thing.  I can’t image why high school seemed so stressful at times.  I always had my skis on the roof rack, a sleeping bag in the trunk and my thoughts on Sun Valley, Idaho.  I thought if things got too much I’d just head to Sun Valley ski resort and be a ski bum.  Be a lift operator, instructor or whatever and maybe fix and race motorcycles in the summer.  You know….. that still sounds good 🙂

Warren Miller ski movies and a tv series “Then Came Bronson” about a guy that just cruised around the country on his motorcycle were my favorites.  Racers Joel Robert, Roger Decoster, Malcolm Smith and Steve McQueen were my heroes.

So the song reflected my attitude.

There’s nothin’ you can do girl, there’s nothin’ you can say
You talkin’ to the sky babe, I just got to get away, yeah
Got to hear the wind song singin’ in my ear
Got to get it on girl and I’ll never make it here, yeah

‘Cause the wind was my mother, the highway is my brother
I was born to wander and it’s time for movin’ on
I was born to wander turn around and I’ll be gone, gone, gone

Here’s the current project.  Not a convertible, but the T-Tops come off in seconds for the same feel.  I’m a little torn.  I bought it partially because everything is original.  Yet the Petrolhead or “Greaser” (the 60’s and 70’s US equivalent) wants to do all the same I did to my Chevelle.  I guess I’ll just be careful with all the original parts in case someone else wants it back original some day.  I bought it on kind of a splurge.  My two teen boys had been sick and hadn’t felt good enough or motivated enough to get excited about driving.  I thought if I picked up something fun to drive they might catch the excitement.  To them it’s just “The blue car” and they have no interest in a 4 speed manual transmission.  They just want Bluetooth, spotify and power everything.  My son Jake calls my favorite song as a teen elevator music.  He’s talking about “Born to Wander” by Rare Earth.  Teens these days!  68 Stingray
