Wish You Were Here
YouTube suggested their cover of WYWH and I clicked. I was blown away. There is a ton of poorly done Pink Floyd covers out there, so I may have been a little skeptic. Their cover is fantastic. They put their own touch on it and still captured every nuance of the original. After that YouTube suggested Once Upon A Time. Original songs? These are awesome! And then it was like a magical journey.Replay, replay, replay, join mailing list, dive into every MLT rabbit hole I can find, what? They have a website with a club and, and, and Why? I joined a couple of years ago and found this this group of great people enjoying this beautiful music that demands to be listened to over and over.
MLT Fans are the best!

Member26/10/2022 at 03:43 in reply to: Artists with something to say, Mona and Lisa.Jung, I know it’s been said before,”You bring a lot of class to this place”. Your posts have been great. It is nice to read everyone’s different thoughts of Why? After digesting a new song and finding a personal connection with it, it’s always interesting to read everybody else’s thoughts.
I’ve kinda been waiting to listen to the CD in one continuous run, and guess what landed on my doorstep today. I am putting it on my phone now. Tomorrow’s going to be a nice ride to work, and even better going home. I will probably have some more thoughts after a few more commutes.
I was visited by my little friend Shwartz tonight. Schwartz is actually kind of large for a skunk. I was sitting outside scrolling through my iPad. Back up a sec. Ever since my initial encounter with this beast, I started reading up on skunks. I even found some good advice here. Everything said they are docile and that they will turn and scamper if you remain calm and speak loudly. So I feel a little braver and think I could get a good closeup pic. Besides, they only spray if they feel trapped.
I was sitting there scrolling through my iPad and in walks Schwartz. My first thought was now’s my chance. My mind said open the camera and turn the iPad toward the skunk. My right eye focused on the iPad while my left eye said that thing is bigger than we remember, and it’s about seven inches away from my feet. I thought it was the neighbor’s cat the way it strolled in. And then it realized I was there. No sudden moves,”Hey get out of here!” That was all I could do. It turned around kind of quickly and started to walk towards the front of the carport. So naturally I followed up with,”Go on then, get out of here!” I think I may have stomped my foot. My left eye yelled at me,”No sudden moves! It might feel threatened.” Meanwhile, my right eye had already measured the distance to the door and sent notice to my central nervous system to be ready. Both eyes turned to Shwartz who had paused for a second. It’s tail was rising. I yelled again and was through the door in an instant. It didn’t spray, but I wasn’t taking any chances.
Here I was all pumped up and ready to get a great pic. I mean I have been looking for Schwartz to come and visit again for a while. I was ready. Smile for the camera you stink’n varmint. So who walks in, and as soon as it looked up at me this little voice started screaming,”It’s gonna spray! It’s gonna stink! Run away quickly! Run away quickly!” I think I sat there for about five seconds before I first reacted.
I can’t figure out why I get so freaked out, and why does it seem so interested in me? Perhaps it is from some childhood trauma that I have blocked out. I have never been sprayed by a skunk? Could Warner Bros. be the one to blame? Maybe the answer is Why?
Okay, this went way longer than I thought it was going to. I hope you didn’t think I was going to end with I got sprayed. That would stink, but it would be hilarious. Picture me sitting in a lawn chair and casually holding my hand out to a skunk,”Here kitty, kittty…”

Didn’t Lisa talk about Time of the Season in a Q&A’s, or it may have been an Ask the Twins post? I remember she said the guy that created the software she was using contacted her to complement her art. He liked what she created with the software he created

Hi Diana,
Thanks, I have never seen that one. I like the audience shots, too. You can see by everyone’s body language that the hair is standing on the back of their necks. The band sounds incredible.
Since we’re having an Ah-Ha moment, this is my favorite cover of that song:
After that, look for her cover of Space Oddity.

Does a piano/thimble intro count? This is pretty interesting.
Also Check out her take on “Take On Me” by Ah-Ha.

David Yeargin,
Have you listened to Jump Ship yet? Good luck with your non-listening challenge.
Let us know how your weekend goes. ????

You know we’ve got to win
Here at home we’ll play in the city

Hi John, Hi Diana!
I feel a little jealous. Thanks for letting us know how your calls went. Wow, sounds like you had some great chats. Lisa and Mona are so generous with their time.
Hey Diana,
Who’d have thought they’d lead ya

Hi Van,
Welcome to one of the koolest clubs on the web. There are plenty of rabbit holes to dive into, with amazing music everywhere. Lisa and Mona have shared a lot with their fans. You can find a lot about their history here. It feels like we are watching a rockumentary in real time.
The Out and About section has some really kool videos of the girl’s extracurricular activities and hobbies. You can watch them skydiving, running a marathon, or check out their guided tour through Hamburg highlighting Beatles history.
The Duo Sessions are amazing. “Wish You Were Here” is the one that lead me here. Each one is my favorite until I play the next one.
You are just in time for their new album of originals. Why?

Juergen,
Alan Parsons Project is awesome. Listen to the similarities between that and Pink Floyd’s Us and Them. In my minds ear I always consider this as a piano intro even though there is a lot more going on. For me, the piano sets the tone of the song. This video was always a hi-light for me at their shows, watching the video on a huge round screen while the band played below was always very moving.
JP
Here is a nice Piano version. He actually plays the whole intro, so it may take a moment to recognize those iconic notes.

Hi Jung,
Welcome to the Machine is also a good road trip song. Whether on a dark desolate road at night, or heavy traffic in the afternoon, I always notice a lot of syncs listening to this while driving.
What did you dream? It’s alright we told you what to dream. You dreamed of a big star. He played a mean guitar. He always ate in the Steak Bar. He loved to drive in his Jaguar. So welcome to the machine.
I can’t wait to listen to Why? on my daily commute.
JP
I’ll bet you thought I was going to say,”On a dark desert highway.”
