I like this interpretation. There are a lot of purists who say,”Nnah…”. It doesn’t sound like the original. It shows that she is a PF fan. She really seems familiar with this piece. I have never heard of Litzo. Thanks for the introduction.

Those are lyrics to Pink Floyd “The Final Cut”. Seemed appropriate. Yes, VPN stands for virtual private network. It will mask your IP address. Your antivirus software might include one. If not, there are many VPN apps available for download.

Have you, the viewer, tried setting your VPN to a different country? Select the country the link was copied from.

  • Jacki, I thought we went over this last year. Halloween, Thanksgiving and then Christmas. 🤓☕️

Happy Thanksgiving! Have a wonderful weekend, and remember Thanksgiving is a free-for-all, no diets, no healthy choices, if if tastes good, enjoy. (ahem..that is, all in good moderation)

I love the way you guys write. Your posts are both enlightening and inspirational. Jurgen , I love that Schubert quote. No truer words.

Jung, you reminded me of the first time I “heard” Count On Me. I was driving home from work and as the song ended I was taken back to a time when Marlo and I were driving to her next doctor appointment. I think I posted about this before. About eleven years ago Marlo was stricken with breast cancer. Then it was a few years of surgeries, chemotherapy, hospital stays and doctor after doctor. We were on our way to her third appointment one day when she broke down and told me how glad she was to have me and my support. Sickness and health, right? I used to say,”Everything’s gonna be okay. We do what we gotta do.”

Ten years later I’m driving home from work andas Lisa and Mona sang Count On Me, it occurred to me that this song could be about us. I remember running in the house when I got home and turning on the stereo. Marlo and I held each other and swayed to the music. No tears, just big goofy smiles. She knew what I was feeling. She remembered that day in the car.

“It was the best of times; It was the worst of times”

Music sure helped us get through it. I used to load up her iPod with her favorite songs and leave it by her bed when I went to work. It was kind of like a digital mixed tape. Arriving home I would drop hints to see if she liked the surprise song I put in the middle of the mix. Her smiles always gave it away.

I have a lot of favorite songs that I have attached to memories. It’s funny how memories can sneak up on me when I hear something from a long time ago. All of a sudden I am trying to figure out why I am happy or sad. Then along comes a memory of why? I find this is the best time to turn up the volume and enjoy.

I am reminded of that song by Triumph

    Then you hear the music
And it all comes crystal clear
    The music does the talking
Says the things you want to hear

  • That was pretty kool, John. That reminds me of my younger days. We used to go to a lot of concerts at Saratoga Performing Arts Center. It was a quick twenty minute ride down the highway, and lawn seats were cheap. Driving on the highway we would see other cars loaded with concert goers. There was an instant bond as we rolled down the windows to greet each other.

Ok, not quite the same. Meeting another MLT fan out in the wild would be very kool. I thinkJungis right. This may become a more frequent occurrence.

Looking back over this, I think this might be the rated G version. It was the 80’s.

You are so right, Tim. These simple mixes sound so clean, especially through earbuds. Mona’s bass sounds awesome. They are both very humble about their abilities. I think Mona’s voice is perfect for Everbody’s Talking. After this I listened to Teach Your Children, again. I know we all find this special because of the family dynamic, go Rudi! I think this is a great cover of this timeless masterpiece on it’s own. Their harmonies are so kool. Then again, why not embrace this as a father teaching his children? I hear Rudi “stuck in the middle”.

Here is a great version of the PF song I was referring to. This is drummer Nick Mason’s band that he put together the for some short tours playing early Pink Floyd. Being very familiar with this song, I can say this is a great rendition and very close to the original. Nick’s still got it.

Dave, I am listening to Quicksilver. I am reminded of that person who speaks quickly without breathing, and tends to go off onto various tangents without ever circling back to the original topic where as you are patiently waiting to interject as there is no appearance of any point where you might interject with your however humble opinion leading to an appearance of conversation. Whew! I made it to the end. It reminds me of Floyd’s “Obscured By Clouds” That reminds me, there is a ski trail on Gore Mountain called Quicksilver. It really doesn’t go anywhere special, but it’s a smooth ride.

    Hi Tim,

Watch Mona after “dressing gown” She makes it look so easy, thumb and all. I really like how this has that natural sound of the room. It feels very spontaneous. When I first found this I was dumbfounded. Seems like there are little gems like this everywhere you turn here.

    Hi Tim,

Check out Mona’s playing here. I really like this one. Their somber tone draws me right in.

That’s pretty kool. I liked No. 9 when the violins chase each other. To think of the classic composers transposing each layer and each instrument of a symphony and then assembling an orchestra to perform it must have been exhilarating. It seems like I can hear the repeating patterns better with the accompanying visuals. I was thinking the beta version may have used characters in place of the colored cubes. Perhaps an image of the instruments 🎻🎻

Wow, that Bach piece is kool. DuPonte is amazing. Those pipe organs must sound kool in person. I have never seen one. Reminds me of Pink Floy’s Atom Heart Mother.

David, when you mentioned the music clips on tv commercials I was reminded why I have always loved this song and others. There’s also some fantastic covers of this out there.

So back then our internet was the closest radio station, the record stores and commercials for K-Tel records and Time/Life music collections.

Go grab a big bowl of Lucky Charms and plop down on the floor in front of a big RCA TV and click on this:
