Wow, thanks Melvin. I have not heard about that before. It’s crazy to think of all the manual labor that went into creating that effect. Nowadays it’s clickety-click. Back in the eighties I knew a guy with a nice reel to reel. We could simply switch the reels to the opposite spindles and change it to the opposite channel to hear a recording backwards. That was how we were able to hear the backward message on Pink Floyd’s The Wall.
Thanks for that little tidbit. I love hearing about how bands were able to create some kool effects long before the digital world.

Hi Graham,
Where have you been , it’s alright, we know where you’ve been
Nice to meet another Floydian. Mona and Lisa have done magic with “Wish You Were Here”, eh? The Duo Sessions are fantastic. Have you checked out the Sky Diving video? It’s amazing and has a fantastic soundtrack.
Welcome my son…

Hi Ian,
Great to have you on board. Are you familiar with the story of Rip Van Winkle? The story is set in the Catskill Mountains, which is where I am. We are about two hours north of New York City. Rip is the adopted mascot of this area. We have a mile long bridge that leads out of the Village of Catskill and across the Hudson River called the Rip Van Winkle bridge.
Have you checked out the Out and About section? Lisa and Mona went skydiving for their eighteenth birthday and made this really kool video of it. There is a lot to see and hear here. Enjoy the ride.

Member15/07/2021 at 02:38 in reply to: …and Courageous Superb Long Distance Mountain MarathonersI made one other great discovery in this VLOG. As “White Room” was playing, I did not remember hearing it before. How could that be? Don’t I have them all? Why don’t I have Volume 3? Embarrassed and elated. I feel like I have discovered a new MLT Gem! Where have I been for the last year? Immersed in everything else MLT. (LOL My spell predict now includes MLT as soon as I click an uppercase M. There it is again MLT ????)
I now have a new album to listen to in my car. How did I miss this? ‘White Room” is flipping awesome. Their voices sound so kool and the Wah-wah is mind blowing. And I love Mona “Baker”on the drums. I am sure Eric, Jack and Ginger would like this. The whole album sounds incredible.
These truly are The Best Years of Our Lives. This song is one of my favorite covers. I had Volume 3 cranked up on my commute today. Wish my volume went to eleven.
‘If I Fell” is playing now and I feel like I am falling in love with the MonaLisa Twins all over again. Their voices are so magical.
Bravo Ladies! Looking for fun and feeling groovy????

Member14/07/2021 at 03:10 in reply to: …and Courageous Superb Long Distance Mountain MarathonersYou are right Jung. This flows so well from beginning to end. We have to add Film Maker to their resume. I could not help think it was as if they mapped out the video ahead of the event. As Lisa and Mona check their time and pulse at each mark, it’s as if they also check their production notes for camera and lighting settings. Running a marathon is huge challenge, then add the elevation, thin air, and carry cameras! It really feels like there was a documentary crew accompanying Team MLT. Camera crew, lighting crew, wardrobe, catering, transportation, editing, nah, Lisa and Mona can cover all of that.
This VLOG carries the viewer from beginning to end. And what an ending it was. The film makers really captured the runner’s highs and lows as they carried on through the course. The added graphics brought it all together. Mapping out the course was a great display of just how treacherous this marathon is. The terrain was a lot rougher than I thought it would be. I worry about injuries. Perhaps some bubble wrap gloves?
I agree, Jung. This VLOG is a true work of art. The soundtrack is perfect. The music matched the video just right.
Where the shadows run from themselves????

‘“Who runs for seven hours straight?!” Lisa and Mona do, that’s who. The girls’ support of each other is truly inspirational.
I hope Mona got a t-shirt. ????

Two guitars, two voices, two big smiles, well three if you count mine. ???? and yours, and yours
I love this performance. It really showcases their talents. I am amazed by artists who can just sit down and deliver so much emotion like this. It’s such a catchy tune to begin with, and then add that MLT Groove and those overly-contagious smiles, it adds an extra bounce to the song.
I think we have all said this song sounds like it was written for them.
Thanks for digging these gifts of grooviness out of the archives.

Member17/07/2021 at 03:36 in reply to: …and Courageous Superb Long Distance Mountain MarathonersHi Diana,
I love discovering these gems. I have been paying more attention to their originals, so I guess that’s my excuse for missing out on Volume 3. Until now, that is. Volume 3 has been on replay for a couple of days.
White Room is kick ass! I love the vocals. It was a perfect fit for the Marathon VLOG. And I know I have said it before, but I can not get enough of “The Best Years of Our Lives”. pun intended I think I have to see a doctor. These Dad jokes are getting to be too much.
Seriously though, I love that song. I like how their voices rise and fall to a whisper and waltz. Don’t you love how they switch to the waltz tempo for a couple of beats? Every song sounds great. I think the audio quality of these albums is out of this world.
Have a great weekend!
Stay groovy,
JP
