In the late 70s in Canada Trooper was big with a lot of hits, but they didn’t get a lot of traction outside of Canada like The Guess Who, and BTO did. They had some big rock hits like Raise A Little Hell, and Santa Maria, but like the Rolling Stones they had some incredible ballads. Pretty Lady is one of them, and I still find on occasion humming to its melody even now. It has a Whiter Shade of Pale like orchestral movement in it. Have a listen.

That’s tragic what happened to Judy Tyler, as it looked like she could have been one of the great actresses.
In reference to the Open Your Heart video, I saw a show recently on one of the cruises where they interviewed a number of couples that were together/married for decades, and there was this one couple who’ve been married for something like 60 years. They asked the husband what was the formula to make the relationship work, and he said he learned to say “YES DEAR”.

John, I adore Never My Love by the Association. Those harmonies. One of the best 60s songs! That would be an awesome cover.

If I may make a Beatles suggestion here, with great guitar riff intro and nice harmonies, I’m Looking Through you off their Rubber Soul album would be another great less well known Beatles song I think MLT could do great justice to, along the same vein as “If I Needed Someone”, and “Hey Bull Dog” they did recently.

Those are really cute. The artist, Eileen Lam, who does them is incredibly talented.
In the same vein, I really like this cartoon image created by Lisa of the twins available as a pin. I think a bigger miniature/doll/plaque of this would make an awesome MLT merchandise.

Yes early October 2018. Yours Howard was one of the first welcoming posts on my intro post. ? So glad we’re all still here and the Club has grown so much more since then. I think Oct 11 is the date the very first posts in the introduce yourself subforum started to appear, so perhaps that is the date.

Hi Angelo. Yes I see your point, when a band has the skill and discipline to knock out a perfect performance to do a Beatles song justice, there is great honor in that, and there is nothing “pale” about that for sure.

Well stated Skip. I agree with all you said. Exposure is certainly a good thing so long as its done on MLT terms without infringing on their artistic independence and freedom. MLT know what they are doing so we don’t have to worry about that.

Hold Me Tight would be a good one. What a flashback to cute adorable of the twins in this clip!

I love that video. It still keeps me guessing which one is Mona and which is Lisa in those early baby clips. Both are just too cute and adorable, back then and now.

Skip, what a sweet gem “Think About Me” is! That must have been pretty special to have a song written by your dad going to the top of the charts back then. Did your father write many other songs that were recorded?

I know this one quite well Howard. In the early 70s in elementary school in music class we use to sing Blowin in the Wind, and One Tin Soldier that really stood out. It was the first time I realized just how beautiful and emotionally moving music could be. I think Mona and Lisa could be a modern Joan Baez if they wanted to with the great depth of their singing voices and beautiful harmonies.
This one is my fave Joan Baez songs.

Yes David. MLT can do any genre they want to do brilliantly as demonstrated over and over. Their stellar harmonies should not be limited to any genre. It’s too beautiful.

In “Count on Me” I hear a little Joan Baez kind of beauty in Lisa and Monas singing. I think they could do any Joan Baez song great justice.

LOL! ? Love your clever magic with words David. I wasnt in Maine long enough, but it certainly has beauty in the little harbor town we visited.
