Great question Jacki, and I can just imagine what kind of culinary delight a Mona Italian Tiramisu or Lisa Lemon Cheese Cake would be like, if your music, art and everything else you do give a clue when you start experimenting! If I recall you keep a pretty impressive garden Mona from one of your posts, so I bet fresh home grown ingredients in your chef hat creations is another big part of your cooking. Thanks for that wonderful insight into another part of your life.

Here is an interesting little tidbit about what colors inspire creativity. Red, Yellow (MLT colors, no surprise), Blue, Green, Purple, Orange and Grey. From an article on “The Best Office Colors to boost creativity, happiness, and productivity.
“Colors have both psychological and physiological influences that affect mood and behavior. In rooms where people work, learn and create, colors that energize and enlighten, uplift moods and focus the mind inspire a productive and creative atmosphere.”
There is a similar article called “What Wall Colors Inspire Creativity”.
So if you are or will be repainting your place in the near future and are contemplating what color to go with, well the experts suggest these: Purple, Green, Blue, or Orange. Now I don’t know if this is a clever ploy by the paint companies to sell more paint, but if you are going to paint, why not with some colors with potential benefit.
Well of course MLT album Orange is a living example of the brilliant musical creative magic that is possible, and the resident “Purple Fairy” poet and artist Jacki Hopper I’m sure can attest to Purple and it’s power on creativity.
Interestingly the color green in particular have some research to back it’s creativity benefits to the brain. I also read somewhere green is good for the eyes and the retina in particular for it’s neutrality in the color spectrum and resultant soothing/refreshing effect on the eyes.
Here is a little intro to the color green and why it is good for your creativity juices. I heard a story Beethoven liked to go walking in the forest and around lakes (surrounding himself in nature and green) when he use to compose. Click to enlarge the image.

Love the background song from Orange.

I’m an ebony haired one Howard, but I think Mona and Lisa both look fantastic with their respective hair colors. Perhaps in the Roman days there was the lure of rarity with blond and red colored hair that made it exotic and different. I remember in my younger days, I use to perm my hair for many years for a wave, and I did it because I just liked the way it looked on me. I suspect young people today dye their hair for similar reasons like just liking how it makes them look, and also maybe a form of self expression of independence and freedom from the status quo. Just my 2 cents on that.

Wow, love seeing those guitar photos, and that newly acquired Ricky look exceptionally nice, like a little piece of art. Just like a piano in the house can give the place a little extra character and charm, I am thinking, having a few guitars hanging around the house could make for a really nice atmosphere, especially if you can just pick one up and start playing. You are a lucky guy Roger with all those guitars! 🙂

Your story Lisa lately reminded me of a story my mom told me a while ago. When she was in her teens her father died of an illness and the Korean war broke out. Life became suddenly bleak as my mom’s world came down around her. During those times she use to listen to Beethoven, and his 5th Symphony in particular. She use to listen to it when things were overwhelming and it made her feel better and gave her strength. There was always Beethoven music in the household ever since I could remember. Music can be a great consoler during the darkness and give strength and courage. It’s a powerful and wonderful thing!

Mick Jagger was so well spoken when asked what he thought about the Beatles during the height of their fame, speaking so carefully so as not to to say anything bad about them and pointing out they are merely different. Spoken like someone with a lot of admiration and respect for the Beatles, the same as the Beatles were about the Rolling Stones.

The background voices effect give it a nice celebratory feel like being at a fair, kinda like the background voices in Sargent Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band.

Hi Jim. The video is brilliant in so many ways. The Lanzarote scenic beauty and the blue hour give it a mysterious mood. So artistically done with the shot of the stars and Milky Way too.

Just as the sun rises over the horizon this morning, Nothing Is In Vain gives that perfect magic to start the day!

Very nice! Cool creativity there Jacki! Looks very elegant.

Good morning Roger! That sounds like morning perfection. You have the MLT groovy spirit. ? Give Cooper a nice pet for me.

Wow Howard there’s some intriguing stuff you dug up there. I’ll have to go back and read some more to absorb it all. Really liked the story about Keith Richard’s and Mick Jagger doing the right thing in that copyright lawsuit. After seeing that Beatles vs Stones video, and other examples you cited, despite the rough around the edge image, I see Mick Jagger and Keith are good hearted people with integrity.

That’s awesome Jacki! Love it. 🙂

Ahh, to be young and flexible! That thought crossed my mind too. It’s good they both keep in great physical shape, with Lisa running marathons on weekends. She gave a wonderful description of her workout regimen on a post in the Ask the MLT subforum a few months back.
