I remember back at the end of December you posted this picture on Facebook and said you were closing the hatch and hibernating until the new year. I envisioned you both going off somewhere warm and beautiful for a well deserved break, and I am so glad you did, to Lanzarote for a “workation”!…………
…..Because you came back recharged and so full of creative energy, to give us all these wonderful music and videos, and all the joy still to come!

There was a cute brown dog, and a couple of nice kitties, but no birds I could see anywhere.

Thanks Mona. I’m glad Rick asked this question as it cleared up the same question I had in my mind. I wasn’t sure if your black 350 in your live performances just looked darker because of the lighting, but now we know you do in fact have two 350s. How awesome.
Now Lisa has two Gretschs, the black and white Gretsch Duo Jet, and I presume a black/brown Gretsch Country Gentleman used in the recent “Baby Mine” video as well as in some live performances.
You’d both make John and George proud, and not just because of the guitars you use. 🙂

Happy belated birthday Steve from a fellow month of March birthday boy.
Lisa, you and Mona made my recent birthday one of the most memorable too. Thank you!

They did such a stellar cover of CCR’s “Proud Mary”, would love to see another CCR cover too, as it would be awesome. When they do a cover they some how interpret it so wonderfully and breath new life into the song. It was like when I heard their version of God Only Knows Beach Boys cover or Scott McKenzie’s San Francisco. Songs I heard a million times before, but MLT version was like hearing it again for the first time with all the joy and magic restored to when I first heard the song years ago with their unique style and sound.

Thanks Tomas. I got 9 out of 10 this time. I’m “Getting Better”.

Here is my Baby that I had to sell a couple of years ago due to high mileage, but it was in great shape. This is a pic from the Craigs list posting when I sold it (went fast). You could say I am in between Mustangs these days I hope.
Yes, getting that California weather might be too big a price though. I would rather have the typical rain forest climate and drive down to California for the California weather.

Member22/03/2019 at 04:16 in reply to: Has spring sprung where you are? Here is some MLT Spring spiritHi Robert. It’s getting nice here this week isn’t it. I have to say despite all the rain we get, when it does finally get nice here in the PNW, it is really, really nice with the bright blue skies, crisp clean air, and everything just seems so fresh, bright and colorful from all the rain I guess that watered the plants and cleaned the country all year long. It’s like everything comes to life but in a real fresh and sweet way.
I haven’t done Route 66 yet, though I’ve heard a lot about it. That sounds like a great idea. My fave drive to Seattle from Vancouver is to take the I5 down to Bellingham, then cut over onto the Chuckanut drive to Mount Vernon and onto La Conner and just continue through the countryside highways into Seattle. Lots of quaint little towns along the way. And of course in the spring have to stop by the Tulip festival in La Conner on the way there. Just need some time, a map, and the open road awaits, and of course my phone and bluetooth stereo in the car loaded up with MLT tunes programmed into a nice play list. 🙂 Spring and summer awaits!!!

Hi Lisa. Wow, Motown would be an interesting genre to cover! As others have said, whatever Motown one you choose, I think you would knock it out of the ball park as you always do. You and Mona have a special gift at interpreting and creating truly remarkable covers with your own style and sound while staying true to the original.
If you decide to do a Motown cover one day, Little Eva’s “Locomotion” perhaps might be fun. It has an irresistible dance swing beat but with some guitar riffs and MLT creative magic it could be quite interesting. Grand Funk did a rock version of it in the 70’s, and Dwight Yoakam a country version, Carole King etc all did their own versions.
I’m sure others more versed with Motown may have even better ideas 🙂
Happy Spring to you and Mona in Liverpool!

Member21/03/2019 at 00:07 in reply to: Has spring sprung where you are? Here is some MLT Spring spiritHi Howard. Thanks for the insight into your climate where you are. Your winter sounds very nice. It’s like most of our spring and summer where I am except for a couple of weeks in July when it peaks into the 30s. With the climate change they are predicting the Pacific northwest is gradually gonna be like southern California. I can hardly wait, but it might not happen until my ride on this merry go round is done. ???? Your big road trip sounds like a blast. I’m itching to do a big Canada/USA cross country roadtrip again one of these days soon. Don’t forget to load up with the MLT tunes before you go. Great selection for your Spring themed MLT videos.
