Thanks Jacki. For me some of the most moving and beautful feelings I ever experienced have been through music. In grade 5 music class we use to sing our music teachers fave song, One Tin Soldier, and it was so incredibly moving for this 10 years old.

Hi Jacki
Thanks for sharing your story of your parents. It’s very tough I know when people you love dearly become afflicted with dementia. Despite their illness they suffered, I am sure the joy you gave them by being their daughter and a part of their lives far outweighed the hardships they had to face.
This song is also special to me as it reminds me of when my mom use to smile with happiness when I use to drive her through the wide open countryside after she first came down with dementia.

In an interview, Lisa said their grandmother use to often say this phrase “The wide, wide, land” when they would go walking.
When my mom had dementia she enjoyed it when I took her driving through wide open farm land. Perhaps wide open scenery had a soothing affect for her, I dont know.

Well Mona and Lisa, you both know how to have a rocking good time on a birthday. I always worry I might forget to pull the parachute cord, or pull the wrong cord in all the excitement. .
And you both looked so cool standing next to those yellow and red cars, even if they weren’t yours. Nice shot!!

Its because we cant contain the passion and enthusiasm. ????
All right its back to work????

Tim, you got it right on about Orange, and BAM 2 & 3.
When I first heard Orange, I just couldn’t help but draw comparisons, in my mind anyway, to Pet Sounds and Sargent Peppers just for it’s artistry as an album and the impression it leaves on me. It is so much more than a collection of songs like most albums I’ve come across are, but has a theme and overall grand design such that as an album it is greater than the sum of it’s songs indeed.
The very first track, “The Future”, sets a theme and a kind of unity across the entire album. Positive outlook for the future and hope in the world is reflected in tracks like “No More Worries Company”, “It’s Alright”, “Waiting for the Waiter” and “In it For Love”. There is also a sense of mystery and wonder about life and love in songs like “Count on Me”, “That’s Life”, “Close to You”, Still a Friend of Mine”, and “Club 27”. “Once Upon a Time”, and “Sweet Lorraine” are just joyful and brilliant as life can be. The album comes to a climactic end with a kind of emotional roller coaster if you will taking us up on a hard rock and roll high in the Jimmy Hendricks tradition with “Club 27”, immediately followed by a heart string pulling “Still a Friend of Mine” which are polar opposites to each other in terms of speed and emotion. The album ends with quite a statement that leaves a lasting impression.
I personally think Orange is a masterpiece of an album, with the same kind of artistically themed vision Brian Wilson had for Pet Sounds and John Lennon and Paul McCartney had for Sargent Peppers. If the MonaLisa Twins didn’t intentionally do it with that kind of vision in mind, some of the genius from the Beatles certainly rubbed off on them after 10 years of doing their covers and perfecting their craft after them to intuitively create such an artistically remarkable album.

Howard, I would say Mona and Lisa also have good taste in cars. Now when their driving skills reach a certain point, I would recommend them these, as we don’t want them showing up late to their sold out performances. I think Lisa might be ready, as she’s been seen jumping out of airplanes and driving fancy MGs.

OK, I will play:
1. The Wide, Wide, Land
2. Sweet Lorraine
3. Still a Friend of Mine
4. Club 27
5. Count on Me

I could never tell who was doing the highs and the lows in the harmonies. This anawers that for me. Thanks ????

Max. I know Mona and Lisa are on a temporary self-imposed break from performing at the moment to focus on writing original music and new albums/projects. In that interview they indicated if they continued just performing at the Cavern and did all the other live venues, they were going down the path of being a tribute band. I think they wisely came to the decision to focus on getting more original music under their belts as they see that’s where their future is, and when they do return to performing again when the time is right, and come out to the USA as well, they will have a bigger repertoire of their own music to offer their fans.
The MLT Club is a new platform for their fan’s, who are inclined, to be able to support Mona and Lisa more directly on their journey as they focus on writing new music, videos, and other new projects, and most importantly so MLT can continue to spread their great music and passion with the rest of the world.
In addition to buying their music, and referring their music to others, supporting them here at the MLT Club right now is the best thing we as fans can do to help them with their current creative efforts/projects and pave their future. It is also a great platform to share our suggestions and ideas with Mona and Lisa. I have faith in their great musical talent, and judgement on how they will further their musical careers, and I have no doubt great things will unfold for them.

Hi Tim. I was trying to be sarcastic about Pete Best being a superstar extraordinaire. 🙂
In that interview, John Lennon used some bright metaphors to describe his general disdain for Pete Best as a drummer.

Hi Steve. I think children, with their honest and innocent perspective on things, have a knack at seeing things as they really are uncovering truths. And so when your 6 years old grandson hears MLT and says “they’re good”, what better validation is there. The MonaLisa Twins are indeed great!!!
