Tim,
Appreciate all your input here, the interesting topics and lively discussion you always initiate. As Rich says, as long as we are all here “In it for (fun)”, appreciating each others point of views, and furthering our passion for the MonaLisa Twins and their music, it’s all good.

In “The Orange Year – 2017 Recap” video, I can’t help but chuckle (at 2:25) where Mona is seen and heard flexing her vocal chords. So funny and cute! Then (at 4:05) there is Lisa hard at it signing all the CDs and she stops to recall the term for the opposite of Ancestors, but settles with referring to all her fans as our “Children”. I thought that was funny and sweet.

Hi Tim
I like your passion Tim. In one of their interviews Lisa made it very clear they dont want to be stuck as a tribute band and is the reason why they left the Cavern residency to write new original music. In a note from Mona on one of the topics recently she reiterates the same plan for the future, so I dont think we have to worry about that. I think they also realize many of us discovered them and are here because of their incredible covers. I trust in their judgement how they should balance between covers and new original music at this particular point in time.
We all want new original music, as does Mona and Lisa, so we’re all on the same wavelength.

Hi Howard, Michael
My thoughts exactly. 🙂 It would be wonderful to see an early performance of that song by Lisa, and a remake by Mona and Lisa now.

In certain video scenes when they were younger it is hard to tell them apart sometimes. In California Dreaming, in a few scenes I am not quite sure which is Mona and Lisa (the boat scene). In the video Black Bird, where they sing lying on the floor, head to head, if it wasn’t for Lisa’s longer hair, I would be challenged to tell Mona and Lisa apart upon quick glance there.

“Alone” could be a song that could surprise us all. It is a really, really great song! It was one of the songs that really stood out every time I heard it in the company of other famous/iconic songs on that 2007 Concert album. I didn’t realize until last week it is one of your early originals.

Let it Be would be awesome, or a Beach Boys somg from Pet Sounds like Sloop John B. Time of the Season would have been a big one, but its on the way. Can hardly wait to hear that one.

Given Mona is an accomplished blues harp player as witnessed on a number of videos and she just added flute now, my hunch is she did the trumpet in Sweet Lorraine.

Ice cube scene in Bus Stop and Mona gets swallowed by a gold fish in Notings In Vain. Mona may have been looking away when this scene got added.

That looks easy Lisa. Maybe someone should start a band “The Nose Fluters”. ????

When it comes to release of a new album, there is that certain excitement and celebration to be able to collectively discover the new music at the same time on the release date. It just makes the whole release more meaningful and celebratory. It was like that with Orange at 19 minutes after the stroke of midnight in the UK on Sept 29 2017. Social media was abuzz like Christmas as each one of us downloaded or unwrapped the CDs (plus or minus a day for the CDs given it was in the control of the postal services) in a frenzy to experience the wonderful new MLT music together.

I highly recommend it. Really gets into that thing about music that brings us all here. Am watching it again 🙂

Hi Mike. It’s great to see you here, and I’ve always enjoyed reading your comments in Facebook. It’s so great to be able to see all the other long time MLT fans here from over the years we see all the time…
If you know the answer, don’t keep us in the dark, and if Mona or Lisa can add their thoughts and insight into why it is their favorite Beatles albums even better!
MonaLisa Twins are the true keepers of the faith as musical artists these days when it comes to carrying on the tradition of the greatest pop/rock music there ever was/is that started back in the 60’s, adding their own unique sound and style. And more than that they are incredibly kind, thoughtful and wonderful people that touch and move people through their music and art. That is why we love them so much.

That sounds like a great plan. You can never go wrong with more new songs.
