    Hi Tom et All

In Vancouver we have this little train ride in the city’s Stanley Park that has been there for ages. I remember going on it when I was in kindergarten. At Christmas they do the “Bright Nights at Stanley Park”, and the Christmas train ride is a popular attraction. I went on it about 10 years ago, but glad to see it’s still going on strong as ever. I highly recommend seeing the lights at Stanley Park for anyone visiting the city around Christmas time.

    Hi Daryl

That sounds just awesome. Do post a photo of your Baby Mine when it arrives, would love to see it. I think life is too short to put off your passions for later.

    Hi Daryl

What a great idea. Carla sounded fascinating, I bet had a personality too.

Yeah our pets enrich our lives so much, don’t they.

Here are our cats, Milo in the bottom was my cat, Cooper on top was my sisters cat. Cooper is young in this photo, but he became massive and nearly twice Milo’s size as an adult. They both left us a couple years ago, and we miss them a lot.

Max was my best friend, so good, gentle, and protective. Miss him so much too.

    Hi Daryl

That song is beautiful and moving. Thanks for sharing it. I heard on the radio a few days ago of Myles Goodwyn of April Wine’s death, sad to hear. I did have an April Wine album in high school, and remember a number of their hits, especially Just Between You and Me.

    Hi Tim

Yes, I like MLTs version of this and Nowhere Man better than the Beatles. Their vocals/harmonies are second to none. I put their harmonies above Beatles, Beach Boys, and Everly Brothers and more….

    Hi Tim

I love how Mona and Lisa have the same creative philosophy to never repeat themselves. Between their 3 original albums, each one is very different from each other, exploring new sounds and styles. There is constant innovation and change. Even across all the Christmas Advents, each year it is different trying new a creative ideas mixing it up. This years has been the most fun, engaging and memorable.

    Hi Roger

Here Comes the Sun has always stood out for me as well, a really beautiful melody. I’ve heard it covered over the years but the Beatles were the best, until I heard Mona’s voice on it, wow.. And the harmonies. Best bar none.

    Hi Tim

Yeah whenever I hear this, it sounds so unique like no other before it. When the Beatles first came out with this song, it must have been so mind blowing to everyone, such an innovative sound.

In that Making of Rubber Soul video, Paul said: “…we always wanted every single record to have a different sound. We never want to get trapped in this ver Mersey Beat”

    Hi Bud

Normandy Park Winterfest looks very Christmassy and a lot of fun. I use to explore all around that area, use to go to South Center a lot. You mentioned the Kingdome earlier, there is this Japanese market called Uwajimaya close to old Kingdome my parents always took us to whenever we visited Seattle. That place started as a really small store and kept growing and now I think it is a big Asian Supermarket. Do you know the place? They always had the best Japanese food/snacks, and we’ve been going there for ages.

    Hi Chris

Stanley Park is one of Vancouver’s biggest gems, fortunately the city kept the forested park in tact within the middle of the city and the city grew around it. If you make it up to the Vancouver area definitely visit Stanley Park, and June to September is the best time to visit, weather wise with the most sunny days. And then a ferry ride to Vancouver Island to the city of Victoria is highly recommended. Victoria named after Queen Victoria with it’s old Victorian homes and architecture and English influence some joke is more British than Britain. There is a lot of forest, mountains, ocean and wildlife around Vancouver if you like nature. The tourist motto for our province is “Super Natural British Columbia”.

Thanks for posting that Roger. John Popper is amazing, and I’ve never seen that kind of amplifier on the harmonica like that before. He makes such amazing sounds from that little harmonica he has, I mean blues harp. He certainly is a master at it.

  • Hi Dave

Thanks for checking out the video! I know what you mean, it is not always easy for me to journal consistently every day. Over the years I found writing everything down at work in my work journal, has saved me many times just for the record I made of a conversation or meeting. Sometimes I get half way through something, and then I remind myself I should write things down. Then alter when I am under pressure to finish something, I go back to my notebook and so many details are right there saving me so much time etc….addresses, names, phone numbers, dates, what someone said, what I said or thought at the time….. God is in the details.

    Hi Roger,

I’ll have to check out John Popper. It must be a very bluesy character of the music that makes the instrument used, referred to as a Blues Harp.
