Hi Dennis
Welcome to the MLT Club. MLT brought me back to the Beatles and rock and roll. I definitely love their interpretations of the great rock classics often better than the originals, and I love MLT originals even more! Hope you have a great time here.
All the best

Hi Sara,
I agree too. Why spoil the moment for others, and miss the moment themselves, just to get a poor quality recording, that they will likely watch once and forget. What bothers me even more than that, just to illustrate, I was at a wedding recently, and while the bride and groom were exchanging their vows, one of the bridesmaids cell phone goes off spoiling the beautiful moment. I am sure musicians must despise inconsiderate guests who let their phone ring while they perform.

Hi Mike
Good point, “WHY?” is indeed a statement on current society, expressed in the most moving and beautiful way.
In the days of the composers, musicians and artists were subservient to the wealthy and influential nobility, clerics, and princes and kings. They were expected to create music to entertain, and know there place in the order of things.
In contrast, for Beethoven, his music was more than mere entertainment but a statement and expression of the times he lived in. He believed in freedom and individuality with a passion. “Beethoven was a bit of a radical in his day. He was a supporter of enlightenment political and social philosophy and despised class divisions.” His music reflected his spirit and beliefs. After Beethoven, music and musicians were on par with the great artistic paintings and literature and the great artists of all times.
The music of the 60s was all about making a statement and changing the world for better, and I love that Mona and Lisa carry on that spirit of a musician/artist of Beethoven, Beatles, CSNY, Dylan…and all the great legends that took a stand for what they believed in through their music. Their music has substance and meaning. WHY? carry on that great and noble tradition.

Here is another interesting video from Rick Beato. Music today in the last decade or two have hardly any key changes, one of the big musical elements that create moving emotions in music. Rick is talking about the top chart hit songs, as there are brilliant independent artists creating inspired work. This goes to prove the point once again of the general trend of mainstream music that truly lacks musical substance, and musicianship and is uninspiring. As Rick said in the other video posted above “are these really the top 10 songs…”, there is just nothing there in mainstream music today to move you and draw you back.

Hi Sara
I would have loved to have been at Woodstock and Monterrey, as well as the Beatles first USA performance at the Ed Sullivan show. I would have also loved to have been down in Washington DC 4th at the 4th of July 1980 Beach Boys concert with half a million fans. I watched it on TV live, but being there in person would have been the best.
I would have also loved to have been here in 1964. I was only 1 then, but I might have still enjoyed it. HAHAHA.

Hi Daryl
Yes a great point, couldn’t agree with you more. All the great legends unfortunately are in their twilight. Paul McCartney, RingoStar in their 80s, Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Alan Jardine are all up there, and the legends you mentioned as well. There is no great talented musicianship any more in the music. Mona and Lisa are the future of Rock and Roll indeed. They carry on the torch of inspired rock and roll music to the next generations with new innovative music style and sounds all their own.

Hi Mike. Southern California always had this bigger than life dreamland appeal, for me it started with the Beach Boys and the beautiful coastline. For my brother who lives down there, it’s just home with all the ups and downs of a huge city. The weather is always nice and the coast is gorgeous and draws me back all the time.

Hi Jurgen,
Thanks so much for sharing your childhood experience in your winter wonderland and sled, it sounded magical. Did you say you are a writer of novels? 🙂 That was an amazing and enjoyable read of your city and the mining industry that is there and the feelings of the place you conveyed.
In the northern parts of the huge province of British Columbia I live, there are lots of mines and small quaint mining towns with a handful of very interesting little shops, museums, and neighbourhood restaurants and people are generally very welcoming.
In the place I grew up in the city when I was little there was a big hill at the school between the upper and lower playground, that felt like the side of a mountain at that age. When it snowed kids came out with their sleds and toboggans and the first snow fall, all I had was a cooking pan that I got from my mother to slide down the snow on, that’s how small I was, and then later got a “magic carpet” for the snow.
Thanks for sharing those old photos of when you were little! It looks like you had some magical times in the snow with your sled.

I really love the extra gifts they send along when you order MLT music or merchandise. I have a few Orange guitar picks now, and and Orange guitar strap too, and I’m all set when I get my new guitar. The MLT stickers are great, I have two adorning my piano, like a badge of honour.

Hi David.
I came across this scam too. After I watched a Rick Beato video, it appeared Rick reached out to me to tell me I won a guitar. I knew something was up when he wanted me to pay for shipping right away to some weird hotmail email account.

David, yeah I like that analogy of the teapot. It also goes along with his message to the future generations, “ask yourself only what are the facts, and what is the truth the facts bear out.”
Basically consider the facts and think for yourself and not be mislead by the status quo accepted “truth”. Look under the veil.
