Friedrich “Fritz” Kreisler was an Austrian-born American violinist and composer. One of the most noted violin masters of his day, and regarded as one of the greatest violinists of all time, he was known for his sweet tone and expressive phrasing (wiki).
Here is an excerpt from his work „Liebesleid und Liebesfreud“ (Love sorrow and love joy). A very soulful piece, with a slightly melancholic note.

Hi Jung. As you wrote correctly: the tradition of St. Patrick Day’s was taken to various countries by the Irish emigrants. Germany and some other European countries are not part of it.
In our country, however, Irish pubs were very popular for a while (or still are). As a twenty year old I regularly went to pubs with friends and listened to live Irish music. It was always a great atmosphere and live music in a small, personal setting is something fantastic. One band in particular here in our region appealed to me. It consisted of German musicians and the female singer had a voice like an angel. They came from a neighboring town (Duisburg) and called themselves Sheevón. They had good contacts with Irish bands and also performed regularly in Ireland. Many of the songs they performed they had written themselves. That’s why I have a special relationship with Irish folk music.
PS: I googled Sheevón and the band is still around. Awesome. I have not heard this music for about 30 years now (unfortunately there are only amateur videos with a not very good quality).

A nice opportunity to listen to Irish Folk again. Thanks Jung, good idea.

Thanks for your answer Tom. Since the tradition is little known in our country, I have now googled myself. In Munich, a St. Patrick Day parade has been taking place since 1996, including the illumination of the Hofbräuhaus (probably boosts sales…).
Switzerland officially participated in “Greening” for the first time in 2014. As the country’s only contribution, the Rhine Falls near Schaffhausen were illuminated green during four evenings.

Hi you funny guys. What is St. Patrick’s day? (a question from someone who lives behind the moon) 🙂

I just remembered these two songs. Both I haven’t heard for ages and they still create a good mood.

…and this song as well…

Yeah Tom. That’s pretty cool. For me this kind of dancing is a little bit like flying. I like it very much. Unfortunately I’ve never seen Lord of the dance or Riverdance live, but I’m sure I will catch up at some point.

I only know this one song by the band. Did they ever had a second hit?

“That should probably be enough“, the private detective said, pushing a stack of writing and photos toward her. They both sat in his office. He had an unkempt stubble beard, the brim of his hat was pushed far forward into his face so that she couldn’t see his eyes, and a smoking cigarette was casually stuck in the corner of his mouth. She flipped through the papers and her eyes widened worryful, “He had, he is“, she stuttered and her voice became faltering. „Yes”, the private eye continued her thought, „he is married and has two other mistresses. They all fell for the swindle with the dance number“. She sighed deeply. She could have guessed it: a man who could dance so damn well had to have a dark side. “I don’t want revenge“, she remarked, “only satisfaction“. The detective laughed dryly, took another drag from his cigarette and snipped the rest deftly into an ashtray that was already full to the brim. Yeah, he had heard that many times: revenge and satisfaction, the two unequal brothers. Both different sides of the same coin. “Then we should do something“, the private detective replied, looking pityingly at the woman sitting across from him. „How Can You Mend a Broken Heart of a woman“, he thought and decided not to give her the bill until the next meeting.
So it’s your turn, Diana, David or also gladly someone else. I am curious.

I didn’t think about: happy forever (although we are in the colorful world of pop music right now). Only until the next crisis appears on the horizon. Just like in real life 🙂

…the story comes to the turn “Don’t speak”. But that’s not a question, it’s sad silence. I think we should give the two protagonists another chance, after all, you can talk about pretty much anything, learn from mistakes and let the passion blossom once again (and the whole story still has a happy ending). But what will happen next?

After the little secret has been whispered, the next question pops up: 🙂
