This song always spontaneously puts me in a good mood:
-
Hi Diana, this song comes to my mind spontaneously. It’s about time that I dig out my old albums again.

Hi Jung and David (and all others of course), a beautiful song by Mona and Lisa. And since we are talking about comparisons with Beatles songs, I feel reminded of „I’m Happy Just To Dance With You“ (whatever the reason…)

Hi Diana, thanks for the songs „I Am Woman“, „Life in Mono“ and „Ode to Billy Joel“. All three are great songs. I especially like „Life in Mono“ very much. It sounds very melodic and somehow mysterious.
Thank you Christopher and Jacki. With your help I am slowly becoming an expert on Canadian music 🙂 .
Here I have another great piece of music by a band that Jung brought into play at one of the last posts:
-
Yes Jung, I’m sure Mertz would have loved the sound of an electric guitar and the possibilities it offers. At this point I ask myself what would have become of Eric Clapton and Co. if they had been born 100 or 200 years earlier. Would they have revolutionized the music scene then, too? We will probably never know, but maybe it is better that way. And here are two very talented guitarists performing a piece by Enrique Granados.
Enrique Granados, born July 27, 1867, was a Spanish composer and pianist. Although he composed primarily piano pieces, many of his works were also transcribed for guitar. The following piece is not a love song, but it is a very soulful performance nonetheless.

Like a violin with fairy hair
Hi Jacki. Did you mean this April Verche? Great choice. I love Irish folk and accordingly the fiddle. What kind of music does April play exactly? It sounds like a mixture of Irish folk and country music. What do you think?

Hi Diana, you have a very charming way of „cheating“ 🙂 And it was worth it: “Nouvelle Vague – In A Manner Of Speaking”. A very relaxed song with a lovely Latin American colorit. I’ve found a nice cover version of “Don’t speak” also in Bossa Nova style:

Hi Jung and Diana, thanks for posting Evanescence. I have heard the song „Bring me to life“ many times without knowing which band wrote this song. I like the title very much. If you like hard and classic, you might be interested in “Nightwish” (if you don’t know this band already). The Finnish band around actual lead singer Floor Jansen is a popular representative of the symphonic metal direction. I have attached one of their softer and chart suitable single releases (with this song they only scratch the tip of the iceberg of their abilities). Enjoy.

Thanks Diana,
I also like this song very much. Then I’m busy the next few days and will listen to Garbage. I’m always happy when I find new music ideas here in the forum.

A nice idea, Leif: Get together with friends, your family, cheer on your own star and be happy afterwards when you’ve achieved a good placing. Unfortunately, I can’t tell you exactly how important the Song Contest is for us at the moment. It doesn’t matter. Here is the band that sends Austria into the race. Groovy.

Hi Christopher. Thank you for posting. I’m not particularly familiar with all three performers (Mona & Lisa of course excluded 🙂 ), so I checked them out right away. Very different voices and characters and each very good in their own way. I like Luba best. I don’t know exactly when she peaked in her career, but some of her songs sound like the good old 80’s.

Wow again, Diana. I like “I think I’m paranoid” a lot. „Crunchy“ guitar riffs, a catchy melody and a certain spice that accompanies the song. I like such songs that are diversified. The mixture of harshness and a beautiful melody results in a nice tension. After hearing this song, I can well imagine that the band cannot be clearly assigned to a genre. Sometimes it’s nice when music doesn’t fit into a single drawer. I also often think about whether I should post certain genres of music or certain music videos here in the forum or not. I know what genre of music is desired here and I don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings either. With garbage you have made me curious in any case and I’ll google about the band. Thanks. Which is your favorite album of this band or is there a “best of”?

Wonderful Jacki. I didn’t expect so much background information. Thank you for the very detailed description. It all sounds very exciting. If I understood you correctly, the Ottawa area has predominantly English-speaking founding fathers. Is this also true for the entire east coast? Quebec is French speaking as far as I know. Are there regional differences in music there as well? So traditionally different music is heard and played in Quebec than in the English-speaking regions of Canada?

The opening rosebud at the beginning of the video fits wonderfully with the song, which also opens like a blossom in the first warming sunbeams of the beginning morning.
