Did you know that the RCA Victor dog with the perked ears and quizzical look, “Little Nipper”, who appears with the gramophone and the tag line, “His master’s voice” is a Jack? I have in mind to do a photoshoot with my Buddy and an iPad as an homage to this iconic image. … his master’s video chat….

Hi Don,
We are in the Phoenix area and have been fans for a while. We made the long trip to Liverpool for the now legendary Half Moon Pub gig back in the winter of 2015, and we took in a Cavern Show later that week. It was one of the most fun things that I’ve ever done. Getting a private Beatles oriented tour of Liverpool by the renown Blue Badge Guide, Jackie Spencer was an added bonus. I (Neill) went back for the penultimate Cavern show about a year and a half later. Team MLT were gracious to grant me permission to use their music as the soundtrack to my scrapbook video commemorating my second pilgrimage (Ask first!) https://youtu.be/ibNkv-QGzAw
Welcome.

I have a recording of that program and what she says to introduce Circle Game is exactly what is quoted in the video. Of course, she may have used that introduction many times. But that BBC program is a real gem.

We flew into Manchester.

We are also from sunny Arizona. We live in the Phoenix area and have been on the MLT bus for quite a few years. Even though, it is a long flight, I (Neill) cannot recommend a visit to Liverpool highly enough. At least as long as you can see MLT play live somewhere and there’s not an active pandemic. It’s a magical musical place and there is really nothing that quite brings it home like being there. Welcome!

I didn’t mean to post the original version of this video.l I thought I was posting the later version that I made after Kasidy sadly passed away. By that time, I had more material and dug a bit deeper for a tribute. In this one, Kas actually sings along. But yeah, this is what I meant to post. What the heck. She was such a good dog, I can watch it twice. I hope you can too. Ultimately, this video proves that great music and a dog can make really marginal video presentable.

My introduction to the MonaLisa Twins was mostly because I was looking for music to use as soundtrack to videos I thought would promote our local bicycle club. I made several and MLT was gracious to agree to allow me to use their audio. As a bit of a giggle, I made one featuring our beloved Jack Russell Terrier named Kasidy. Some years later, I had the honor and privilege of meeting the whole MLT team in person at the Half Moon gig in Putney, London. At first, I think Rudi thought I might be Steve from Miami, but he ultimately placed me as, “Oh, the dog video guy.” I thought it was funny because technically, the bike videos were much more challenging. It’s hard to compete with adorable pets.

In this household, Kristi was the one who picked up on the photo shop. I think it might have been after I said that I thought that usually Lisa drives. I think I remember hearing that said…, anyway… a quick Google and we caught the connection to the movie segment. I’m sort of embarrassed to say I don’t think I’ve ever sat through the whole movie.

OK, now that’s pretty funny… I just posted and accidentally double clicked. I got a warning message that said, “Slow down, you move to fast…” I’ve never seen warning messages quite so context sensitive.

When I listen to the MLT version of Good Morning Starshine, it sounds a bright and soaring as I recall the original. Then when I go back and re-listen to the original, its not nearly as bright and soaring as I remember it. I think Team MLT did an amazing job of covering it the way it should have been done in the first place. I laugh though. Of all the songs from Hair to cover, I would have thought of “Age of Aquarius” or the title track “Hair” as more obvious choices. For me, part of the joy of this is that it’s so far out of left-field and yet it’s so right.
