I got 30 of 30 Howard, without looking at any of the questions. But I thought I read somewhere this is an MLT site, and not to promote other bands here. No? 😉

Hey again Mona!
I’ll try to reconstruct basically what I wrote you this morning and give you the gist of it. Yes; when I was a junior psychology major in college, just for the fun and joy of it I took an elective course with the freshmen music majors. It was on music theory, and it did help me much in my piano playing. One of our textbooks, which I still have after 45 years, is entitled, “Harmony and Ear Training at the Keyboard.” In the last decade or so, I enjoy singing along with my piano playing more than ever before. I am an average vocalist and probably a tenor.
It sounds like your dad taught you girls how to sing the sub-dominant and dominant notes of the tonic triad. Of course, he did not use those terms with you, lol! (Or did he?) I could train my ears to hear the harmony notes and even to sing them solo. But once I hear the melody, the synapse pathways of my brain would lead me back to sing melody. Lenore and I have a lovely friend who I would say is “tone-deaf.” Hearing her sing is very painful, like a chorus of long fingernails moving down a chalk-board; yikes! She could go to a professional voice coach, and he or she would soon pay her to quit and take up knitting or something. Her DNA simply does not contain the “talent” or inclination to sing well.
I understand and agree about what you say about talent:
natural aptitude or skill. synonyms: flair · aptitude · facility · gift · knack · technique · touch · bent · ability · expertise · capacity · power · faculty · strength · strong point · forte · genius · brilliance · dexterity · adroitness · skill · cleverness · virtuosity · artistry
Becoming skilled in any endeavour takes a lot of practice, repetition, hard work, and patience. I really love your sentence: “In our case specifically with singing harmonies I think it was a natural, slow learning curve that came from repetition over many years.”
It has been said that “repetition is the mother of retention.” People often say, “practice makes perfect” but I do not agree with that. To me, “practice makes permanent” instead. Your father taught you and Lisa the correct techniques to sing melody and harmony. Through years of honing your craft the two of you have become “World Class” vocalists. Maybe you don’t have a range of 4 octaves or an extremely high upper register, but you have the sweetest and cutest darn voices I have ever heard! <3 <3
Does this make sense? My tone-deaf friend could practice for decades, but still sound horrible. Her neural pathways are firmly established. She and 99.99% of us simply do not have the natural aptitude and/or special gift from God to sing as well as you two. You have taken those gifts and used them wisely.
By the way; I loved how you and Lisa both harmonized with John Sebastian (John Sebastian himself!)
You and your sis and I have exclaimed groovy love aka philia aka affection many times. But have I ever told you both how much I also like you? Well, I do!
Groovy-love and groovy-like from thawing Omaha ????

Member03/02/2019 at 16:10 in reply to: Q #4 Hey Mona! Do you feel your awesome ability to sing harmony can be…Waahhh! Mona, I just wrote you a long reply to thank you and when I hit “submit” it told me to log in, and my reply was totally gone! 🙁 I just wasted about 40 minutes. I should have learned my lesson and typed and saved it in MS Word first. I totally forgot to do that.
This happens in Facebook, YouTube, and even Patreon. Maybe I get “timed-out” or something? Stupid computer (or is it the user?) can be so frustrating. I’ll have to ask Christomir or someone. Sorry, I’ll go to MS Word and try to remember most of my reply to you. Grrrr!!! 🙁

I just edited this one. Are these comments set in stone after 24 hours? 🙁

Member02/02/2019 at 05:39 in reply to: The Eurovision song contest…or, will MLT become the next ABBA?Thanks so much Itso! I knew that you would come here and be the “Voice of Reason and True Knowledge” here! You were the very first fellow MLT fan I ever met, and I continue to cherish our friendship and highly respect you, buddy!
To everyone else I say; see why almost 2 months ago (on Dec 3, 2018) I said; “Paging Christomir. Christomir?” Itso, being the humble man and good citizen that he is, would never “blow his own horn.” He is not only the most knowledgeable MLT fan I know, he is also the biggest and most knowledgeable music fan I know. I have learned of dozens of great artists from him (especially European) over the past 28 months I have had the pleasure to know him. Like me he is a huge sports fan. He has virtually instant recall of MLT history and if I have a question, he either knows or can find the answer for me quickly. But he is very balanced as well. He does not concern himself with every piece of minuntae of every minute of the lives of the Twins. He has met them in person, but does not flaunt that. He is a fan and a friend of the Wagners, but not fanatical. He does not put them up on an unrealistic pedestal . He sees them as they are; lovely and talented young women, but not as unapproachable Austrian Goddesses.
This thread is of course now open to everyone, especially since Lisa has now answered. But for me, the only additional person I really wish to hear from now is Lior Dvir, if the gentleman chooses to do so.
To Lisa and the Wagner family I say this; I am truly remorseful and mortified if I was the one to stir up contentions here. I have just a bit more to say to you, but it will be in private to you, and you alone. I continue to love you and what you do and for what you represent in our small worldwide community. Thank you for putting up with me still. I will follow your careers, buy all your music, and tell others about you until the day I perish and move on to a better life. I say; thank you for the music, the songs you’re singing. Thanks for all the joy they’re bringing. (Don’t know where that sudden inspiration came from.) 🙂
Okay; I will shut it now. I’ve already said too much in the past 24 hours. Good night and God bless.

Member01/02/2019 at 23:35 in reply to: Q #3 Hi there, Lisa! Have you stayed in contact with Mona over the years?Thank you so much my youthful friend.
“Expectation postponed is making the heart sick” is a verse from scripture. I figured there was no way you were going to ever answer me after such a long “awaiting moderation” time. You know I am a very enthusiastic and passionate man, and now you know how emotional I can become in the middle of the night. I have been combing through my heart and brain to try to guess what I asked that may have offended you. You know that most of my question about the video idea was “tongue-in-cheek” and unrealistic, right? If we were speaking in person, my tone of voice and sly grin would have been a dead give-away of that. Sometimes I hate that aspect of social media.
I saw that you and Mona saw my pre-apology in Facebook a couple weeks ago for anything past, present, or future that would hurt either of you. Please let that apply now; okay? I came very close to burning some bridges in the middle of the night. I actually wrote something that only my new buddy Howard saw, and then before he even replied to me, I deleted it of my own volition.
Ricky and Itso keep telling me how busy you have been, but I was not buying you were that busy. I don’t keep tabs on you up to the minute. That is kinda creepy anyway, IMHO. I simply don’t have time to do so.
Lisa, you know that I cherish you and Mona and your parents not just for your wonderful music, but as friends as well. I don’t think I am that “special when I smile” but like all the guys here, I think that you are.
Anyway, I do not look for you to reply to this, and I’m certain that Howard and others will. You said you will not get involved in conversations here, and that is certainly understandable and appreciated by me.
I don’t wish to make this bigger than it is, but I wish to discuss my future in this groovy MLT CLUB via private e-mail with you and Mona and Michaela. There is sometimes too much noise and very little privacy here. I love you and your sister and your parents and most of what you do. You are still friends of mine, and I hope I am still that to you.
Thank you for your reply to my question #3, and please tell your cute baby sister I look forward to her reply to her Q #4.
With love, from me to you, <3 <3 🙂 🙂

Member01/02/2019 at 18:44 in reply to: The Eurovision song contest…or, will MLT become the next ABBA?By the way, Lior. I looked up your FB profile last night and saw you are from Mazkeret Batya. I thought that might be in Russia, but I just googled it. I see you an Israelite, sir! 🙂 Did you write an intro bio here?
I sent you a FB friend request, and if you accept it, I will tell you about an artist that will TRULY blow your mind, and she LOVES ABBA like me and about most other people here. Thanks!

Member01/02/2019 at 08:01 in reply to: The Eurovision song contest…or, will MLT become the next ABBA?Hi Lior!
I still think that is a great question and suggestions! Unfortunately I do not see you ever getting a reply here. Has no one ever told you what they allegedly said about ABBA in a verbal interview when they were much younger? I will not repeat it, because I got it second-hand, but from a very reliable source. In addition, it is not encouraging, loving, or uplifting for me to do so.
I LOVE ABBA; they are my #2 Band of All-Time, only behind the #1 Moody Blues. What they supposedly said about ABBA saddens and bewilders me. I would love to know the context and have them explain it to me, but I don’t see that happening, at least not here.

He drives the entire “MLT Project Train” Howard. They were born with huge advantages and a big assist from grandpa as well. Without these two men, we would have never, ever heard of these girls.

Member01/02/2019 at 09:52 in reply to: The Eurovision song contest…or, will MLT become the next ABBA?Ha ha; you sound just like my buddy Itso! I’m not taking issue with ABBA comments and I’m not here to promote other bands. I was explaining to Lior why I did not think his question would be answered. (There was a ton of that done here in my long thread, including you.) If you Facebook friend me, I’ll introduce you to someone there that will knock your socks off. If not your cup-up-tea, then we shake hands and go our separate ways.
Do you think I don’t know or appreciate what MLT has done here? Damn! I have called it the “grooviest place on the web.” Everyone here has their own reasons to be here, and the right to have their own feelings, likes, and dislikes. If the VALUE is not bigger than the PRICE for me, then it is time to call it a day. The PRICE is not just the 13 bucks a month. It is the TIME and ENERGY, including what I am doing as we speak. You also do not have all of my facts, and that is why I sent to a FB request. Fair enough, buddy?
Going to bed as it is now 3:45 am. Slipping back into bad habits that could be fatal to my health. Appreciate your thoughts and your right to your opinions even if I don’t like or agree with all of them. Really not in the mood to be “corrected” for how I feel right now. Can you tell? Later, buddy!

Member01/02/2019 at 08:59 in reply to: The Eurovision song contest…or, will MLT become the next ABBA?Hey Howard!
I’m glad you read that before anyone else. Go re-read; as I deleted most of it. I copy/pasted the first one to MS Word to keep.
I’m pretty upset, but I love the Wagner family and most likely wish to buy the next MLT original album and still follow their careers. They know why I’m upset and becoming increasingly so. IMHO, I have been very patient and loving and kind in approaching them. I do as their song says; “to learn to love your brother.” I would appreciate some of that in return.
I have tried to resolve the issue for at least 3 weeks, but am being ignored, buddy. I have sent the girls an e-mail, and probably need to speak to Michaela now. I really don’t want to follow the route of Timmy and Picasso, but may have to do so for more than one reason. I have already taken a long break from posting here, Howard.
I will send you that FB friend request and one to Lior Dvir as well. You and I can exchange e-mail addresses in a pm. I’m an e-mailing machine and that is my preferred mode of long communiques. Thanks, my friend!

I would love a train or Amtrak trip, Howard! I agree; a sleeper cabin would be HUGE!!! When I was 14 in Summer of ’65, my mom took her 4 youngest to Baltimore with her to see her identical twin sister and my first cousins who were just a couple years older than us. Only my older sister stayed home to help dad. The rest of us ranged in age from 4 to 14.
Omaha to Baltimore is halfway across the USA, about 1,200 miles and 18 hours or 3 days in a damn bus. I hate buses! Diesel smell, dirty, uncomfortable, smelly people, etc. Our Greyhound Bus was nice, but my poor mom with 4 kids, even though we were very well behaved!
My only other time on a bus was 1985 in Poland with my wife and her youngest sister. 2 tour buses of my spiritual family to go to international Bible conventions in Warsaw and Katowice 2 weekends apart. Bussed only to and from the convention site and our hotels! Clean people, no smoking, cursing, or littering. All there to praise God. That of course was great.
If I had no car, I would sooner hitchhike across Omaha than take a bus, and I would never hitchhike, ever. In a huge city, I would go the subway route. Some people have few options, but to each their own. But yes Howard, trains are wonderful.
What is your e-mail address, BTW?

Hey hi there Howard, my friend! So happy to see you still here…I was afraid. More and more, you and I have so much in common, even though you are a Down Underer and I am a Middle Earther; lol!
I just sent you my revised TOP 20 in the BIG THREAD last night. I sent another one just now (I forgot I could just use the edit function.) THE COORS had slipped my memory and they are now TOP 10!
Later, buddy. I have to shut down MLT CLUB and FB for a while. 😉
BTW, you have not seen my Q #3 to Lisa, because evidently the FBI or KGB or UK Customs has seized it. My Q #4 to Mona was delayed more than a full week because of the dilemma. But it has now been submitted last night and awaiting scrutiny. I was up until 5:30 am again, Omaha time. Slipping back into bad habits. 🙁
