Greetings to Floridian Jacob!  I am Mike from Nebraska, a native son of Husker Nation, so I am well aware of your state throughout the decades!

I found the Twins on 4/2/16 searching for a cover of “When I’m 64” to send my younger brother Tom, who would turn 64 the very next day.

Yes, my #1 Bucket List item is to meet Mona, Lisa, Michaela, and Rudi before I die.  It will need to be in the USA, as I do not have the wherewithal, health, energy level, or finances for a trip to England.

Living in Omaha in Middle Earth, USA, I can easily travel from coast to coast here, however.

Very groovy that you are a twin as well!!!  A twin brother or sister?  Identical or non?  My mom was an identical twin born in Montana in 1916.

You will find that there are other MLT fans from Florida here.  What else can you tell us about yourself?  Could you post a photo, too?  Welcome from me, sir!

  • Ha ha; lovely photo of a smiling Ms. Purple Buzz Queen Hopper!  🙂  Seems like this might inspire a new poem, or neon sign, eh?  🙂

    Thank you so much Rudi!

For me, seeing you here and taking the lead is one of the biggest blessings of being here in the MLT CLUB!  I know that you do not do the social media thing like your groovy daughters, nor attend to matters of shipping and tracking merchandise and many other necessary things, that your lovely wife takes care of every day.

You have shown the Wisdom of Solomon in tweaking the way that allows Mona and Lisa to answers questions directed to them first.  This will increase my joy in asking them questions and reading their answers by 500% or more, sir!  🙂  This is a “win-win-win” for me, for them, and for fellow fans that wish to participate.

I think that finding your daughters on YouTube on 4/2/16 was not just a “happy accident.”  It was meant to be; and has increased my joy and happiness in an era when there is very little joy on the local, national, and international news.  I’m certain that many fans feel the same way, Mr. Wagner.  I hope and pray that I live long enough to follow the entire music careers of your daughters.

May God bless you and your beautiful family in all your endeavors.  Please have a lovely holiday break together.  I’ll have many more questions to ask your daughters in the new year.  Thanks again!

    Mike in Omaha

I saw that this morning, SB.  I mentioned it in my long thread.  7 are in this year, but the class is weaker overall than last year’s 6, IMHO.  Last year The Zombies were 6th, right behind #5 Judas Priest, who also failed to get in last year.  (The Fan Vote does not guarantee induction.)  Do you know where The Zombies placed in the votes this year that put them in? I’m really glad they got in this year, as I had them on every ballot last year.

Last year (2018 Class) in the Performer Category it was:

    Bon Jovi (1,162,098 votes)
The Moody Blues (947,726 votes) – long overdue!!!
    Dire Straits (613,726 votes)
    The Cars (552,707 votes)
Judas Priest (538,467 votes, but did not get inducted)

    and Nina Simone

Sister Rosetta Sharpe got in last year in the Award for Early Influence

Ha ha Steve; I would love to hear you play “The Future” on your guitar!  Perhaps when all is said and done, it will prove to be the “#1 MLT Song of All-Time.”

Jacki and Jerry; it is never too late to learn more about music theory, reading music, and playing an instrument.  You are both huge music fans and still so very young!  The synapses and connections in our brains between music and math are so closely related.  Practice in both keeps our minds sharp.

Here is my progressive steps in learning the piano:  My older sister Anne and I took lessons for about 5 years in early grade school.  Often times I did not see the point in it.  When I got to be an older teen, they started to make sheet music books of The Moody Blues, The Bee Gees, and The Beatles.  That is what really turned me on to playing the music I loved on the piano, and I would spend hours upon hours doing so.

When I was in high school I took some more lessons that taught me chords and the inter-relationships between then and all the key signatures.  Learning the “Circle of Fifths” really opened up a new world for me and helped me look at the 88 keys of the keyboard in an entirely new way.  Jerry, if your instrument is the guitar, it would help you there as well.  Google it!  By the way, I love the chord progressions that Mona and Lisa and Rudi write into their songs.  They really understand music and know what they are doing!!!

When I got into college, as a junior in psychology, I took an intro Music Theory course with all the freshman music majors.  It taught me a lot and I still have my books from it.  Finally, when I was finished with school and a newlywed, I took a non-credit course in Piano Design and Mechanics at the university and learned all about the inner working and “guts” of the pianoforte, the instrument I most love.  It touched on tuning, regulation, repair, etc.  I actually did some repair and replaced the felt hammer heads and keys on my old upright piano.  It was a very pleasurable experience, folks!  To get back into playing my piano and electronic keyboard every day was a big motivation for me to get off Facebook.  I truly miss playing, and getting back to it, and to play for my wife will increase my joy and happiness.

Jacki, that is a great story of you and the drums!  Do what makes you happy and gives you joy!  🙂

Jerry, I really need to print out all the pages to the “When We’re Together” chords and lyrics here.  Such lovely photos attached to all of them, that they are truly a collector’s edition as well!!!  I’ll print them out on card stock and put them all in a 3-ring binder.

I’ve had the chords and lyrics for 2 years from a website that Mona and Lisa directed me to, two years ago, but have never taken the time to sit down to play them on my piano or keyboard.  That is one of the projects that I’ll make time for now that I have de-activated Facebook.

Team MLT continues to reward us fans time and time again, don’t they?  They are so very generous and always please, please us, oh yeah!!!  🙂

Glad you asked this question Steve!  I did not know the ORANGE chords were coming too.  “Count On Me” my fave MLT song is the first one I will learn.  What are you most looking forward to, buddy?

  • I pretty much concur my friend!  And that is why one musicologist I once knew likened the zeal of their fans to Beatlemania!  🙂

  • That all make perfect sense to me Mike.  We do not have children, but I know that your beautiful daughter has proven to be a very special blessing from God for you and your wife.  Your love and sacrifices in her behalf are being richly rewarded now, and you will all receive your full reward one day soon.

May God bless all of you, my friend.

Hi there Mona!  I also saw this right away in my e-mail inbox, but you were talking to Ricky and I wanted to give him the first opportunity to speak with you.  Loved both your reply and Rick’s reply!

All of you Wagners are so tactful and gracious.  Your new strategy for the “Ask the MonaLisa Twins” is bloody brilliant.  I know it will greatly benefit me in my “26 Questions” series!  Yes, the response of you, Lisa, Michaela, and Papa Rudi should not be hidden somewhere in the middle of threads, IMHO.

There were two “camps” or differences of opinion on this subject, and you diffused the tensions with a very real solution.  “Life is much too short for fussing and fighting my friend.”  I know you agree and hopefully that is the way with all your fans and friends.  I really appreciate you and your family, Mona.  Ya’ll are much more than great musicians.  Rick and I and everyone here truly treasure you all in our lives.

No worries buddy; your friends will always have your back here, there, and everywhere.  I know as you know that your four best friends here will certainly do so.

BTW, I will certainly follow your lead on your new policy towards interlopers and meddlers, wherever and whenever they may be found.

Thanks Jung.  How ironic; last year The Zombies were 6th in the Fan Vote and did not get in.  Per what you say they were 7th in the Fan Vote this year and got in.

But once again, the Fan Vote is just a small part of the equation.

  • I totally agree Ms. Purple Jacki!!!  I told my wife about Michael’s daughter and she said that the spoken word and the singing voice come from different hemispheres of the brain.  I have learned not to doubt my wife (safer that way; lol), but I would love to research this further.

You and my wife both work taking care of elderly folks, and I know that music really can sooth them.  I know it soothes me, and at age 68 I am in the next group of elderly, along with my millions upon millions of fellow baby boomers.

Mike Rife; if you are reading this, my wife has a question, please?  Can you and your wife and/or your daughter’s therapists teach your daughter to sing when she speaks or wants something?  Or is it that she needs to hear a song and have her synapses help her sing along?  The human brain is simply one of the greatest marvel’s of creation, isn’t it?  Thank you!

  • Wow Michael!  I’m surprised POCO is not your #1!  I have never heard of any TOP FAN being that involved in a band!

I’ve only seen The Moody Blues 6 or 7 times, and my younger bro Tom who has a lot more jack than me, has seen then at least a dozen, including a Meet-and-Greet with them on 10/14/16, Justin Hayward’s 70th b-day!  I gave Tom a 6-page letter he gave to Justin along with an autographed copy of “When We’re Together” that Mona and Lisa wrote a personal note on.  In the letter I told the Moodies all about MLT!

In breaking news:  MLT’s buddies THE ZOMBIES made the 2019 Class of Rock and Roll Hamer of Fame!  I’m certain that you and they already know.  “The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has officially announced next year’s inductees: Radiohead, Janet Jackson, Stevie Nicks, Def Leppard, The Cure, Roxy Music and the Zombies will all join the class of 2019.”

The Moody Blues of course were inducted last year with 4 others, so this is a bigger class.  Have a great day, buddy!  I need to listen to Poco.  “Amie” is their song?  Love that one!

  • Hey Howard!  You mind is like a steel trap; you have the powers of instant recall!  Add to that your deductive and research skills.  You had 3 0f 4 buddy!  The latest Power 4 Concert was Norah Jones in Omaha in June 2017; awesome concert!!!

Some of my lifetime 2nd tier concerts after Norah, The Stones, Moody Blues 6 or 7 times, and McCartney would be:  The Who (probably 1st tier though), Bob Dylan, Jethro Tull, Three Dog Night, and Sheryl Crow twice, etc. etc.

Ms. Crow was huge for me around 2005.  I bought all her albums and DVD’s.  Not political/religious, and if it was would not talk about it here.  Recall those are banned subjects in the CLUB.  Nope, in my last DVD which is during her “Wildflower” Tour she used a filthy word when addressing the audience.  There was no reason to release thousands of DVD’s with that word not edited out.

As you know, I was a teen in the 60’s and young adult in the 70’s, so I did not grow up with virgin ears or mouth, but I will not and can not abide by the stench of rotten fish emanating out of someone’s mouth.  Male or female, star or commoners make no difference.  All for now, buddy!
