There have already been numerous requests, pleas, supplications, urgings, etc. lol. Ultimately it’s their song and their musical journey, so I don’t want them to do anything they’re not comfortable with and 100% behind. They’ll do it if and when they’re ready. Now, that being said…
PLLEEEEAAAASE!!! We all love that song so much! 😀

Another more recent example is Midnight Oil. There are a lot of artists that have had a song or two along those lines even if that wasn’t part of their identity. One favorite that comes to mind is “Signs” by the Five Man Electrical Band” (yet another Canadian nod).

Definitely my all-time favorite contemporary (non-traditional) Christmas song.

Yes, and one of the rare times we see them “reversed.” Just one of my favorite songs ever. Fingers crossed they do it on the livestream this year.

I’m totally with you there. But then, I’m a grumpy old person too. LOL

It would be easier to make a list of groups NOT influenced or paying homage to the Beatles in some way, because it’s almost impossible to make rock/pop music that doesn’t incorporate something that they invented or popularized. Prog rock is probably the planet farthest from the Beatles Sun, so when even groups like Marillion (btw nice to know another fan!) do that, and many of them cite the Beatles as influences, it’s pretty amazing! Off the top of my head, though, I’m not coming up with any songs that are directly meant to be a Beatles homage without being an actual cover. Other than MLT, of course!

Indeed. I’ve never seen it this fast! It’s wonderful!

Congratulations, Bill! That’s fantastic! I need to get on the MLT diet, too!

I Love Rick Beato and watch all his stuff. That is a really good one. For such a classic rock and jazz guy, I wasn’t expecting that kind of in-depth classical deep dive from him.

I am firmly in the opposite camp. In fact, just hearing one bar of that song makes me hate Christmas. One advantage of the digital era is that we don’t have to fast-forward the tape or pick up the needle; we can just rip the album and leave the one song we can’t stand off of it. One fascinating thing to me about the MLT Christmas album is that it has the best and the worst (for me) Christmas songs of all time on the same album! 😀

After they improved things for the Why? release, it got much faster, but still about 400% slower than any other web site, even others hosted in the UK. Now it’s almost completely out to lunch, so I’m glad to hear it’s a current issue being worked on.

Maybe next time I should just order yours and then deliver it to you in person when it gets here. LOL. I can get to you in 6 hours, not sure why it takes the post so long.
