Hi Jung,
the nice thing about doing these acoustic sessions is that we already have a reference to work with. So when we rearrange one of our own songs for just two people I work with the guitar lines that are already on the original recording. It always feels a bit like covering your own music because in 90% of all cases I have completely forgotten what exactly I’ve played on our own recordings. ????
So while the guitar work on the album recording has definitely been a group effort (lots of sitting together in the studio, brainstorming for the best ideas) by the time we arrange them for a Duo Session, I would do most of it myself. And should there be something that thw others don’t like, they will tell me 🙂

You’re most welcome, Bill! It’s kept us on our toes and on track to release something every week and we love it. We’re glad you do, too!
Thanks,

Hi Paul,
That mental image of Beethoven enjoying “Waiting For The Waiter” is quite something. How great would it be to sit down over a “cuppa” with any of these guys!
Growing up in Vienna has definitely left its mark on us in terms of our appreciation for classical music. It’s never something we were particularly interested in but the fact alone that the music of these greats has always been part of our culture made us familiar with a lot of music that perhaps otherwise would have never even entered our radar.
We know there is still a vast world of classical music out there to explore, and there will be a time and place in our lives to delve into it more!
“The Third Man” soundtrack is an absolute classic. Tell me you can listen to that without smiling like an idiot! 😀
Have a great day! -
Hi John,
It’s very kind of you to suggest that we’d be any good at acting ????
It’s something that we don’t have much experience in but would love to get more into maybe one day. We have been approached with various projects and opportunities in the past but nothing has ever really fitted into our plans.
Maybe we’ll make our own movie one day! -
Love this question and topic 🙂
Unfortunately, we haven’t had any personal contact with the 3rd kind but it’s something that has intrigued us since we were young.Throughout years of our early childhood, every night our Dad would tell us a bedtime story, a continuing saga that he made up on the spot, that was all about space travel, aliens and new planets 🙂 So it’s safe to say that outer space has been on our mind for a long time.
The plastic alien from the photo that you mentioned also found its way into a music video if you look closely: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h3JnZBz0Zro
It’s fascinating that you had such a profound experience in Lancashire that you even wrote books about it!
Gosh, there is so much we don’t know. To us, the idea of humans being the only living entities in this vast universe seems pretty unlikely but who knows if we’ll find out in this lifetime 🙂

Hi Keith,
Sorry for not getting back to this sooner! Over the last year international shipping has unfortunately become ridiculously expensive. It seems like they are jacking up the fees every other month and there isn’t anything we can do about it, unfortunately.
We are however looking into setting up a distribution solution for the States to get the shipping costs down. We will probably start with CDs at first but once everything is running smoothly we might add merchandise, too. We will keep you updated through our newsletter and thank you for wanting to buy a t-shirt!Stay groovy!

Guilty as charged! We talked it out over a bowl of cereal afterwards though and she forgave me, so we’re all good again! 🙂

My dreams usually make zero sense.
They are all over the place, people morph into animals, timelines jump around and I’m bouncing through magical, mystical, bizarre scenarios. It’s very rare that any of my dreams have a comprehensive storyline. Quite to the detriment of whoever has to sit through my retelling the next morning! It’s like listening to a story made up by a toddler on drugs.
So no, I don’t really have any recurring dreams although they quite often star the same people, usually old classmates from primary school that I never think about during the day. Go figure.I’d love to dream of UFOs! It would be something that makes sense for once 😉

Hi John!
Haha, you’re right! We actually used to switch to German for both of these songs during some of our live shows. Half of the audience would stare at us in confusion and the other got a real kick out of it … depending on how big of Beatles fans they were! 😉
I wonder if we ever recorded a live version like that but I haven’t come across one recently. If we did, we might post it one day but it would take some digging through the archives.

Hi Rick,
Since the Cavern Club runs on a tight schedule when it comes to the bands that are lined up to play every night, they don’t really allow encores. If every act would extend their set by a song or two it would completely throw off the schedule so we made it a habit to just stick to our regular set length or rather schedule the encores into our existing setlist.
To be honest, it felt a little weird at first but the audience was usually really understanding. We’d try to come out right after the show to talk to audience members anyway so it wasn’t like we’d just disappear into nothingness.
But yes, it’s definitely unusual the way it is handled there but makes sense if you have constant live music on one stage.Hope you’re well!

Hi Keith,
We have sung this song before with a local brass orchestra in Austria when we must have been about 14 years old. They asked us to sing with them for a performance nearby and we thought it would be a fun challenge and wanted to help them out. And a fun challenge it was 🙂
Big ballads like that aren’t what we would typically choose so I don’t think we’ll give it another go. Thanks for the suggestion though ♥

Hi Bill and Maddie,
We absolutely love Karen’s voice but personally, we’ve never really got hooked on their music. Maybe there is something a bit too “sweet” that to us, oddly, takes away from the prettiness of her singing and the interesting compositions.
So we’ve never really felt compelled to cover one of their songs. But never say never, maybe we just haven’t found the right song 🙂
We hope you’re both doing well and send lots of groovy greetings!

Hi Timothy!
Thanks for that super kind “hello” – we’re so happy that you are enjoying what we’re doing and that you came across our music last year! Thanks for sticking around even after the Advent Calendar 🙂
We appreciate all the compliments and send all the best to Mississippi. The state that Elvis was from, right? I hope we’ll get to visit one day!
Hope you’re having a groovy week! -
Hi Leif!
Welcome to our music, the MLT Club and this groovy community here. “Get Back” and “I’m Down” would both be so much fun to do live as a full band, I hope we’ll get a chance to do them in the future. Glad you decided to stop by and support our music – many thanks from all of us! 🙂
