Thanks for noticing, Jung!
We updated the page and added a “load more” feature. If the “In It For Love” post is still missing for you, you might have to empty your cache so that the browser shows it correctly. But it’s fixed now!
Thank you and have a lovely evening,
Team MLT

Oh Josh, this is making us cry! What a beautiful moment. We wish Lola and her family all the best. We are so sorry to hear what she has to go through 🙁
Thank you for recognising the positive effect music can have and for sharing it with people ♥Much love to Cleveland!

Buddy Holly rules! I had to think for a second whether we ever covered one of his tunes but I don’t think so. We love the groundwork he’s helped lay for what pop was going to evolve into.
We love the beginnings of rock n’ roll – the simpler, slightly cheesy but innovative songs – for what they are, but what would happen during the 60s thanks to guys like him is what took it all to the next level. In my humble opinion 🙂 The best example of course being the Beatles who took those influences and added so much more depth and finesse to ‘rock n roll’ and pop music.
So in a way you could say I love Buddy Holly more for the music he has helped create through his influence than the music he recorded himself 🙂

Hi Howard!
It makes perfect sense why you ask that question because we actually tried something really unusual for this recording. We haven’t used this method since but it actually worked really well and saved a lot of time.
We had played “A World Without Love” during our set at the Saloon in Vienna many years ago, back in 2012 (the same night that the “Drive My Car” video is from) and recorded the whole set.
When we decided to do a full studio production of the song many years later we went back to the recording of that show and found that the multitrack live recording was a good basis to start with so instead of re-recording the drum and bass parts in our British studio we just used the live tracks and built the rest of the song around that. That’s why our Austrian live musicians are credited despite us finishing the song in England.
So the song is actually somewhat of a hybrid but it actually worked really well and saved us a lot of time in the studio!
We hope that solves the mystery! 🙂

A big hello back to Northern California! We must have come pretty close to Davis during our first visit to California when we took a trip to Yosemite National park and the surrounding area. It’s such a beautiful spot on this planet and we hope to be back one day!
Welcome to the MLT Club and the community here, we appreciate you joining 🙂 There’s a new video going online tomorrow and you’ll also receive your first ever weekly newsletter called “The MLT Club Wire” in your inbox! So you’ll hear from us soon!
Stay groovy, we send lots of peace & love,

We did! It was part of our setlist for the last ever Cavern Club show so the video for it will end up in the MLT Club sooner or later. As far as I can remember we never sang it in German, but we used to do that for “She Loves You / Sie Liebt Dich” …. We’d swap one verse with the German version.
Half of the audience (the die-hard Beatles fans) would always start smiling, and the other half would look at us in total confusion – it was quite fun to watch 😉
Always lovely to hear from you and we all send groovy greetings!

Administrator03/08/2020 at 12:17 in reply to: What open tuning were you using in “Both Sides Now”?Thank you Brian!
My guitar is tuned to an open D (D A D F# A D) with the capo on the 5th fret (so sounding like an open G) and Mona’s is tuned to an open E with the capo on the 3rd fret. Yeah, we could have just used the same tuning/capo placement on both guitars but we wanted to have a little bit of variety 🙂
We love this song, and I don’t get to sing falsetto that often or use an open tuning so it was a fun change. We’re both glad you like the version ♥ -
Hi David,
All of the above! I have a word document on my computer, a “notes” file and several voice memos on my phone, an actual notepad in my desk drawer and a few phrases floating in my head. I use whatever is closest to me at the time of the idea 🙂
The “I’ll remember the line in my head” approach is definitely the riskiest one and usually gets overwritten by something like “I need to pick up milk from the store”.
I’m pretty sure Lisa and Dad work the same. Neither of us are organised enough to have everything stored in one place, haha!
I hope you’re well and thanks for the question!

Hi Jung,
Hearing how much our music and this Club gave you comfort during the lockdown makes us truly happy. The Club and everyone here has done the same for us.Luckily, a lot of our day-to-day life has stayed surprisingly similar to how it was before the lockdown. We can continue to record music, practise our instruments, film videos, work on our Social Media posts and the MLT Club, and that’s what’s making up the majority of our day so not a lot has changed.
Of course, we can’t see our friends as much, or in the way we would like to see them, but we’re using Skype for virtual hangouts or meet outside with plenty of space. All outdoor events, races and concerts were cancelled but we’re doing virtual races instead and are going to outdoor fitness classes with our friends and family. We’re catching up with our extended family in Austria via Skype but that was the same before the lockdown.
We’ve also started doing daily jam sessions in the studio which is probably the best thing that has come out of all of this 🙂 We also do lots of home workouts together anyway and try to get out in nature whenever possible.
So yes, luckily we were able to keep a lot of our daily routines the same. We are mainly doing studio work at the moment and didn’t have to cancel any live shows, so in a weird way things seemed to happen at the right time for us. We are well aware of how much more disastrous this lockdown could have been if we would have been in any other stage of our career or if we would have prioritised things differently for 2020.
We hope things will change soon but we will have to wait and see. The arbitrariness and ambiguity with which all of this is unfolding is worrying to say the least. Time will tell but hopefully we’ll be able to look back on all this and say we have learnt a lesson or two.
I hope you are dealing well with the whole situation. Take care, stay groovy,
Lisa

Thanks for noticing and reporting. It works again.

Profile pictures on Apple devices are back. It had to do with implementing a new image format WebP that allows faster loading times but is not compatible with Apple. We are now back to Jpeg for the profile avatars and it seems to work fine for both Mac and PC.

THANKS GARY!
What a cool coincidence that we uploaded the video version for Both Sides Now” the day after you posted this 🙂 David kindly already shared the link here so I won’t post it again, but I hope you enjoy the accompanying video for the track. Thanks for joining the Club and for supporting us on this journey. We truly appreciate that ♥
