The Food! There really is a big difference (to us anyway) in simple things like bread, salads, cakes, the way they cook vegetables etc. Not that we think that there aren’t any tasty dishes here (after all, I am hooked on sticky toffee pudding ;-)) but we really don’t think it’s the most flavoursome or … should we say “refined” way of cooking 😉

Hahaa, that sounds absolutely perfect!! Porsche or not, I think that soundtrack would make just about any road trip better 😉
Whenever we go for a longer drive we grab a handful of albums from the CD shelf first, and on our little camping adventure last week we took along these to put on rotation:
The Beatles – 1962-1966
Peter Gabriel – So
Pink Martini and the Von Trapps – Dream a Little Dream
Ben Howard – Every Kingdom
The Pretty Things – Greatest HitsWe’ve had all of these records for quite a few years but also decided that we needed to get some new CDs for the car. We love having our favourite music on something physical like CDs or vinyl.

Hi Tim, hats off for giving German a go. You certainly didn’t pick the easiest language to learn from scratch 😉
There isn’t much of an internal “translation” going on when we speak either language, I would say. At least I am not conscious of that extra “step”. We still mainly “think” German but when we’re around and talking to people in English, especially for a longer period of time, our “internal” voice also switches to English. -
Now it works. The developers fixed it.

By the way, thanks for reporting this, Roger. It’s one of the bugs that keep undetected until someone points them out. So in this case – It’s not a feature, it’s a bug 😉

After doing some testing I now know where the problem comes from. it is our WordPress theme. There should be two buttons on the page of a single topic for favourite and subscribe. They simply don’t appear when I switch to our theme on a test page. I opened a ticket with their support and hopefully they will fix it soon.

Hi Pascal,
I think we’ve only ever changed the gender of a song once or twice quite early on (I can only think of “Please, Please Me” right now) but have soon stopped doing that.
How we think about it now is that it’s best to keep the lyrics as they were intended by whoever wrote them. It usually throws us off and distracts from the music when we hear others change the lyrics of a song just to fit the gender of the singer so we have stopped doing it ourselves. I am sure there are examples when it works well but in most cases it’s an unnecessary change in our opinion. 🙂

Hi Dee!
I just dug out the chords and the video of the song and played it for the first time in years – thanks for prompting me to do that! It’s such a great tune 🙂
Yes, I also play it with the capo on the 4th fret, in the key of E – played as if it was in C.
Ohhh, but it’s magic,
Mona

The hardest originals to get right live are probably “I Wanna Kiss You” and “Nothing Is In Vain”, both off our debut album. Especially “I Wanna Kiss You” might come as a surprise but they are both quite tricky to get across on stage.
As for covers, things like Drive My Car or Day Tripper took a bit longer to practise. Playing a different guitar riff to the melody you’re singing ties your brain into a knot at first, but once the muscle memory takes over it gets easier 🙂

Hi Bill & Maddie,
Yes, we’ve been to Hyde Park several times and even busked there back in 2013. We also saw the Beach Boys there that year, it was great!
It’s a beautiful green space and almost makes you forget that you are in the heart of one of the largest cities of the world. 🙂
There are some photos of us walking through the park in this photo post: https://test2.monalisa-twins.com/london-2013/
They put on a lot of events there all the time, and I hope you and Maddie get to visit Hyde Park one day!

You are right. I have enabled the “subscribe to forums and topics” function in the backend but it doesn’t seem to appear anywhere on the frontend. I’ll have a look at it.

Hi Tim,
Please forgive us for our very late reply, we completely overlooked your message and the time and I only just found it buried in the forum.
So a belated “Welcome” and “Thank you” from both of us, we appreciate that you’re here and hope you have been enjoying your time in the MLT Club so far.
We love the Chuck Berry story and it seems like you’ve done quite a lot of travelling over the years! 🙂
Groovy greetings to Lindsay from both of us!

Hi Alexandre,
Welcome to the MLT Club and thank you for saying “hi”! Your English is great!
We’re glad to hear that “Starman” introduced you to our music and appreciate the kind words about ORANGE. We are currently working on the next original album 🙂Lots of peace & love to France and thanks for being here,

Hi Tim,
We have, you can find it here: https://test2.monalisa-twins.com/art-by-us/
(You can get to it through the Photo Archive overview page)We haven’t updated in quite a while and most of the drawings and paintings are many years old but when we get the chance we’ll upload some more recent art! 🙂
We have never considered selling any of it (although we did do a giveaway of 3 paintings recently) and would only do so if we had enough time to create some substantial pieces. Maybe it’s something to think about in the future!
Thanks for the question!
