They’re just staying true to the originals which I like. I hate when some of these “artists” take a great song and then inject so much garbage into it that you barely recognize the song. I think the Twins really study the songs they cover to stay true but their own talent and personalities make these songs many times more enjoyable to listen to than the originals. I have yet to be disappointed with any of their work. In fact on Thursday I had volume 3 in the CD player when I picked up my 6 year old grandson from school and he says “They’re good” and wanted to see the case. Then yesterday when I picked him up I didn’t have a CD with me and he goes “Where’s the music at?” like he was looking forward to more. I got my daughter hooked on the Beatles at an early age (she’s a big Lennon fan) and now maybe I can turn my boy into an MLT fan. Time will tell.

Rudi, I’m guessing they might have an auto log off after so much time of inactivity. Most sites that you have to log into have that. I would think if that’s the case you might be able to request they not do it but then I think it’s mostly a security thing because people are notorious (myself included) for logging into a site and walking away from the computer without logging out. So if someone is in a place with a lot of people around then you have the old, “Oh look, he’s still logged into MLT. You know he really ticked me off today so I’m going to post something really nasty and maybe they’ll terminate his account.” Believe it or not, that kind of stuff happens more than we might realize. Another thing is I have a number of Chrome extensions which also be affecting my load time. Anyhow, just

Test site, now there’s a novel idea. I swear there are a lot of sites that don’t have a test site and roll straight to production and it shows and I swear it seems that Microsoft is one of them but I kind of doubt it. It just seems that way. So hats of to the Wagner’s for having the foresight to know that things need to be tested before making them live. I will share one growing concern that I am having. Now I was having Internet issues as my DSL line was showing a boatload of errors. That was fixed today and our download speed went from 4.3 Mbps to 8.0 which is where it was supposed to be but I’m still finding the site to be getting sluggish with slow page loads. Don’t know if other people are experiencing this but if it’s not me I wonder how things will be once the membership gets really large. I’m not complaining mind you, just sharing my personal experience.

Ok so on the way home from picking up my grandson from school I had volume 3 playing. His response? “They’re good.” He’s only 6 years old but is developing good taste.

Some questions are impossible to answer. Asking me to list my top five favorite MLT songs is like asking me to do the same thing with The Beatles. I can make the list then think, “Oh wait a minute, what about that one?” But being the old rock n roll dinosaur that I am, I tend to come back to the rockers with Club 27 at the top. I absolutely love that song. But then that might change in the next five minutes. One thing I can say is I seem to have a constant MLT ear worm going and that changes by the minute. So now I’m going to leave to pick up my grandson from school and I’m putting volume 3 in the CD player and I’ll bet when I get back I’ll have a new number 1 favorite and as I type this Count on Me is flowing through head. There is no hope for me.

So then I guess you can call it Germlish or something like that?

It’s a groovy day in PA as I pulled a special package from my mailbox today direct from Liverpool. I was so excited that the first song I played on my guitar with my MLT pick was Bus Stop.

Thank you Mona and no rush on my account. I know you guys have got a lot irons in the fire and it takes time to produce the high quality work that you do. I’m just happy that you like my suggestion and bumped it up a few notches. I really love what you guys do and how you interact with your fans. That is really cool.

I use Chrome and recently pinned the tab so it’s always there. I’ve noticed ever since when I go to access it after being away for a spell I too get that restricted area error. I log in and it opens it up in a new tab and then I find the pinned tab is now logged in. Very strange but I can live with it except I don’t understand why I have to log again. Before I pinned it I didn’t have the issue. This only started after I pinned the tab. I think the page refresh is kind of slow but that might be at my end. I learned today that after calling Century Link regarding my DSL connection dropping off now and then that they are seeing errors on my line indicating a sometimes weak signal. They’re coming out next Tuesday to hopefully fix the problem so I’ll see how the page refresh is after it’s fixed. Like I said, it’s more than likely on my end.

So am I. In fact so much so that I found a web site with free puzzles to do. I find them very relaxing.

Here’s another P&G tidbit. They had a big hit with a song called Woman written by Bernard Webb. But just who was this Bernard Webb? Well, it was none other than Paul McCartney. And may I also say that Peter’s sister, Jane, was one fine looking woman and still is today.

Tim I wasn’t implying that you can’t continue to do your thing here. I was simply stating my opinion. If you want to continue making your comparisons by all means do it. If the MLT family doesn’t mind, then I certainly don’t. I’m not just sure how, in this case Lisa, takes to being compared to other guitarists. But like I said, if they don’t mind, I don’t mind so by all means continue doing your thing. It’s OK to agree to disagree as long as we do it in civil manner and not start attacking one another which I haven’t seen anything like that here and I certainly hope I never do. I see enough of that on Facebook and find this forum a refreshing change of pace where we can openly discuss MLT and share opinions and thoughts like civilized human beings unlike some of those idiots on Facebook and I’m not talking about the Intergalactic MonaLisa Twins Fan Club but rather other areas where people spew continual hate about anything that ruffles their panties. At least here we don’t have any of that which is why I spend more time here than on Facebook. So carry on my man. You’re not bothering me in the least.

In my opinion I think Mona is an excellent drummer and helps to carry the MLT sound. But if you want to really hear how good she is, listen to Volume 3 with headphones and focus your attention on her work. She does a terrific job on all the cuts where drums are used. I think she especially shines on White Room as she injected Ginger Baker’s style into that song. I think if you listen with headphones, Time of the Season and White Room come across as masterpieces because, at least for me, I hear specific details that don’t come through when listening through speakers and Lisa’s solo on Time of the Season is just fantastic. But I have to say that the overall production quality of these two CD’s is as good as any other I’ve heard. And I have to admit that I was leary when I saw they were doing White Room because I felt that might not be a good match for them but oh how wrong I was. That is fast becoming my favorite cut on volume 3 which is saying something because I was stoked when I saw they were doing Hey Bulldog, a highly underrated song of the Beatles. I have to say that these CD’s “Really Got Me.”

I really don’t think it’s necessary to compare Lisa with George or any other guitarist for that matter. They were both excellent guitarists but as time as gone on we’ve learned that many of the solos we attributed to George weren’t done by him. But it doesn’t take away from his skill. Lisa is an excellent guitarist and has demonstrated that she can play virtually any style. Her acoustic work on Time of the Season is fabulous as is her grittier work on White Room. She has honed her craft and will get better and better as time goes on. Lisa’s work stands on its own and in my opinion she doesn’t need to be compared to anyone.

I heard that story too and I don’t think it’s ever been really determined who actually played that solo. I guess someone should ask Paul or Ringo while they’re still with us. My gut says it was George but I wouldn’t be at all surprised if it wasn’t actually Paul. I’ve learned in recent years that he did a lot of the solo’s we attributed to George. Taxman is one that comes to mind that I recently learned about.
