No relation to Bill Crider that I’m aware of. However, I am a wanna be author that just never got published. I’m guessing we might be around the same age. Might you know of a Tom Williams? He was the friend I have in Seattle who was also my sponsor when I did a tour in Northern England. He still lives in Seattle and we still stay in touch via email. Other than some Saturday nights with KZOK, my station of choice was KOL in Seattle where I would set up my reel-to-reel and record a few hours then move what I wanted to cassette. Sounds kind of archaic by today’s standards. KTNT in Tacoma was next then of course KOMO and KIRO for the Sonics and Totems games. Yeah, I did enjoy living out there and thought about staying when I got out of the Air Force but then I got homesick and headed back to PA after my discharge.

This is a Lennon composition and in my opinion one of the most underrated Beatles songs. It deserved more exposure than being buried in the Yellow Submarine album. There is a video on YouTube that was apparently done during the Lady Madonna sessions of this song and it’s lovely how much fun Paul and John are having. I absolutely love it. You should check it out. And as far as MLT’S version of it, outstanding. I love the song and love how well the twins did it.

Welcome Seattle Bob. I spent two years in Tacoma back in the 70’s while stationed at McChord AFB. I had a friend that lived in Seattle so I spent a lot of time there, caught a lot of Sonics NBA games and the old Seattle Totems from the old Western Hockey League. Went to Mt. Ranier many times and loved that restaurant just outside the main entrance to the park that served fresh fish, fresh berry pies, fresh bread. OMG, I’m getting hungry and I just finished supper. I always considered Mt. Ranier to be Gods country and there were days when it was so clear it looked as if someone painted it on the skyline. I really enjoyed living out there despite the persistent rain. Musically I remember a program that aired on Saturday nights on KZOK called Your Mother Won’t Like It where a listener would play their favorite songs for I believe an hour. And boy did I ever hear some bizarre music. If they ever had a show like that where I live, for one hour the listeners would get all the MLT music I could squeeze in and my segment would be called Your Mother Will Love It.

This is such a labor of love and what’s impressive about it is you guys do it all. Sure maybe you get some actors to help out but all the planning, pre-production, production, and post-production work must be staggering when you consider that other acts that have videos mostly do the before the camera stuff. I am so impressed by what you guys put out. It must take an enormous amount of energy.

Here’s a funny but true story. When I was a teenager my dad was the easy listening, muzak king and had no time for what he called boom, boom, boom music. Well one day his favorite easy listening station is playing a muzak version of Yesterday. He says to me, “Now that’s good music.” So I said, “Dad, do you know who wrote that?” And of course he didn’t. So when I told him The Beatles did, his response was classic dad, “Well, they must have had help.” That was my dad. Long live The Beatles and long live The MonaLisa Twins. We love you guys.

It’s interesting how so many pieces in life have to come together before something special is formed. Take the twins. Had they not been born twins but rather three years a part, would we still have what we have today?

Very helpful. I saw it yesterday and thought, cool, that helps me see what I haven’t looked at yet. I also want to say that I love the puzzles and I’m looking forward to more cool stuff to come in Tidbits. You guys are doing a great job with the site.

I couldn’t resist having a listen to some of the new material on the Volumes 2 & 3. My observations. Hey Bulldog was what I hoped to hear and that’s you guys having as much fun at the end as John and Paul did on the video and playing the same funky style that the Beatles did. I still say it’s one of their most underrated songs and deserved a spot better than on the Yellow Submarine LP.
White Room, well Mona, I could close my eyes and hear Ginger Baker on the drums. You nailed that to perfection in my opinion. I loved how you used your voices for the opening and where it was repeated later. I wondered how you would do that and I think it came off really well.
Time of the Season, I fully expected a Rudi organ solo in the middle but when I heard Lisa I was blown away and it made me wish I could hear her do Jose Feliciano’s version of Light My Fire. You are a fabulous guitarist. In fact, you should check out John Fahey’s The Yellow Princess. Great guitar work and I bet you could play that every bit as good.
You Really Got Me, I always thought the Kink’s middle solo was just something, who was it, Ray Davies, did on the fly and probably could never repeat it. Well you did.
Glass Onion, perfect. Was that Mona on, what was it, a flute? I also wondered what the ending would sound like and no surprise there. If the Beatles could do it, MLT could do it just as well if not better.
The thing that really impresses me is how you nail every last little detail of the songs you cover. Take Hey Bulldog for instance, you added that little “yeah” after Big Man that I think came from Ringo. Most bands doing that song would probably miss that.
The ones I didn’t comment on I didn’t listen to because I want something to look forward to when my parcel shows up. Do I have any complaints with any MLT song that I’ve listened to? Has any of your songs disappointed me? Are there any I don’t want to listen to anymore? The answer to all three questions is a resounding NO. You guys are all I listen to anymore. I think you girls are fabulous and I just wish more of the world knew of you. Heck it took me 10 years to discover you and had it not been for Google Cards, I might still be missing out on the best thing to come along since the Fab 4. I’m doing my part. I’m continually sharing your videos on my FB page in hopes that I can recruit some new fans. And all I can say is those that ignore what I share, well, it’s their loss. I love you guys and you continue to put a smile on my face when I listen to you. But then I should expect that. After all, it is company policy. Thank you for all you do. You’ve made this fan extremely happy. Now if you could find it in your hearts to bless me with my favorite Beatles song, Nowhere Man.

Tim, right above If I Fell, is a play button in the grey area that says Sample this Album. It plays them in order, in 30 second samples.

Thanks for the tip Tim. I will research that.

I’m thinking it was Michaela on the trumpet. And am I correct in understanding that other than John Sebastian’s guest appearance, they use no other session musicians on this album or is the exception the strings on Still a Friend of Mine?

While I might be tempted to download the new CD’S I prefer to wait until I have them in my hot little hands, and play them in my car. Sure we’ve heard some of them already on YouTube, but the new ones, I’ll wait til the CD’S arrive and will probably put number 3 on and skip right to Hey Bulldog because I am chomping at the bit to hear that one and I hope they had a much fun at the end of it as John and Paul did in the Hey Bulldog video on YouTube. Besides they should be showing up in my mailbox right around my birthday and how groovy will that be.

I don’t see anything wrong with mentioning other artists that we like as long as we’re not posting links to these other artists pages or promoting them. I personally am not about to start comparing the Twins to other artists. I’m a member of this club because I admire the Twins and how their music makes me feel. They are my favorites and are about all I listen to anymore. I am a victim of a permanent MLT ear worm of their different songs all the time. Now should they say they’d rather we not mention other artists here, I will certainly respect their wishes but I seriously doubt they would do that.

As long as they stay away from rap and hip-hop I don’t care what songs they cover. So far I’ve loved whatever they do. However….. if I had to offer up a request I would suggest Nowhere Man. That song is always in my top 5 Fab 4 favorites and sometimes sits at number 1. It sounds as good today as it did 50 years ago.

Wow Mona, that’s really interesting. I never would have guessed. It would be cool if your dad could do a little video demonstration of the different sounds he gets from the keyboard.
