Thanks Leif for posting the link to that website. I’ve been colorizing old family photos all evening. Only a few more hundred to go. Lol. I like the technology of colorizing old movies and pictures as long as we don’t destroy the originals.

David, all of these great numbers sure lays truth to the Twins statements in the Q&A about YouTube videos being their best promotional tools. Years ago radio play, TV appearances and magazine articles were probably the best ways for an artist to promote their music. Along with endless touring. With YouTube recommending their channel to probably thousands of people per day I don’t know how you can beat that. I think the Twins are very smart at operating their business the way they are doing.

Hi David, 100,000,000 would be a nice Christmas present for sure. I only used the 27,000 because that’s what 10 million averages out for 1 year. David H. predicts they will reach it sooner so that says they are doing more than 30,000 per day. That’s 3 times the population of my town. Lol

David, according to my calculator 10 million views would be 27,397 per day for 1 year. I believe you when you say it will be reached in just a few months. I just want to say if their channel is getting 27 thousand views a day I think it is very successful.

The song I was trying to figure out is Songbird. At first I thought it was about someone the Twins knew or idolized, a female singer, celebrity maybe. Then I thought maybe they wrote it about themselves or each other but the words “Follow Your Beak” made me think no, they are singing about a bird. Lol. It’s interesting and fun to read everyone’s interpretations of the lyrics to all of these songs.

Hi Steve, Destination Sunrise was one of my early favorites from WHY?. It gave me the feeling of heading out on a trip, maybe a planned vacation or just a spontaneous “road cruise”. Heading into the sunrise, to me, means something new and exciting. I agree that The Twins as well as any good songwriters leave a lot to the listeners imagination and interpretation. I tend to stay on the lighter side of lyrics and not get too deep into them. Heck there’s a lot of classic rock songs I’ve been listening to for 50 years that I really don’t know the words to. Sometimes I use my own words, like on the song That’s Life I always sing “before the pool closes” instead of “before the book closes”. Lol. Doesn’t make any sense I know and I don’t know why I sing those words. I just think it’s funny.

I’ve never seen those record cars before. Looks like fun but I don’t think I’d use it on any good records. Maybe on a Garth Brooks or Toby Keith record, Lol. I wonder if you ran it backwards if you would hear all the satanic messages hidden in the recording. Those religious groups would love that. I’m getting better at understanding Mona and Lisa talking but their speaking voices are quite similar and sometimes blend together, but I don’t mind replaying their videos.

Yeah David, I remember those cereal box records and placing the 45s off center to get the warped sound. Also playing the records at different speeds was fun. I still change the speed settings on YouTube videos to get different effects. The first few times I listened to some of The Twins interviews or Q & A videos I would slow the speed to 75% to understand them better. Lol

I’m pretty sure they made it themselves. I would just like to see what’s actually printed on the form. If it is a legit questionnaire I just think we would get some funny responses. Of course I would probably lie through my teeth to try to get selected. Lol

This reminds me of The Twins Duo Sessions. Just two artists with two guitars, rockin’ out next to the campfire.https://youtu.be/In7MChGC2Wo

David , one of the other independent artists I follow is Reina Del Cid. Her and her friend Toni Lindgren do a lot of the same covers as the Twins and also some originals although I don’t think they have recorded any original albums. I would think their numbers would be a good comparison with the Twins. Samantha Fish may be comparable as she has a few covers with lots of views but also has 7 original albums but is mostly blues orientated. Liliac band may also be comparable. They’re a family band from California that play heavier rock music. They have a couple original albums and covers that include Paranoid by Black Sabbath and Enter Sandman by Metallica. Very talented group of 5 siblings managed by their father. Truth is I don’t listen to these bands as much since I found the Mona Lisa Twins.

Hi David, aside from the numbers it amazes me that the Beatles songs are still so popular some 60 years since they burst onto the scene. Even though Mona and Lisa have many great original songs and have done many great covers of other bands, the Beatles covers are the top 12 or better on each list. The Beatles were and still are the most popular band of all time and there’s not even a close second. What a band.

Hi Jung, I like watching these old videos too. Even the black and white ones are interesting. I’m surprised the sound is so good. I think it would be dangerous trying to cross the street on foot. The bicycles looked as fast as the automobiles.
