Jung,
John had so many great songs and I always liked his Beatle songs more than Paul’s. It’s funny because I liked Paul’s solo work more than John’s with exceptions for Imagine, Instant Karma and a few others. I remember first hearing Come Together on the jukebox of one of our local cafe’s. I thought it was the coolest song ever even though I had no clue what they were singing about. I was only about 10 years old when it came out. I still don’t know what they’re singing about but I still love it.

Daryl, that is how one should live their life if they can, by doing the things they like to do. It’s tough when your younger trying to raise a family, pay bills and put food on the table but when you get the chance to enjoy life you should take advantage of it. Our creator gave us the gift of life and we should enjoy it. I’ve realized that a little late but it’s one thing I’m trying to teach some of the young ones I know. Life is too precious to waste it.

Chris,
I remember Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels. I never had their albums but remember a few of their singles. I didn’t know he made anything afterward. I remember Bob Ezrin’s name on quite a few albums, namely Alice Cooper, Kiss, Aerosmith and I’m sure a few others. That’s a nice Christmas gift. I have a few albums I’m almost sure Mona and Lisa have never heard, maybe I’ll send one for their birthday.

Daryl, I remember that band name April Wine. I remember they had a big hit in the States called Just Between You And Me. It’s worth sharing if you don’t mind. Really nice song, beautiful vocals and a great guitar solo. RIP Myles.

Jung, that sounds familiar. I often hear Mona and Lisa saying they like to change things up or try different things to make it interesting, different harmonies, different instruments. I think real accomplished musicians get bored doing the same things no matter how good it is, I’m sure the Beatles were the same.

Yeah it certainly is amazing. I just think they were all growing in different directions and becoming individual artists, each with his own ideas. Maybe that’s why it seems to go in so many different directions as opposed to creating songs for the band. There’s so many great ones on there I forget some of them until I listen to the album.

Hi Dan
I love the white album. It was the first Beatles album I actually owned and listened to extensively. So many great songs from John, Paul and George. I always liked John’s singing voice better than Paul’s, even on their earlier records like Twist and Shout and Help. There was something so cool about that cry in his voice. I think Paul was the best songwriter and liked more of Paul’s solo work than John’s. On the white album I liked all of John’s songs like Dear Prudence, Glass Onion, Bungalow Bill, I’m So Tired. I really liked Happiness Is A Warm Gun. It includes another lyric that I always misheard. When he says “I need a fix ’cause I’m going down, down to the bits that I left uptown”, I always thought he said bitch, Lol. I still sing it that way.

That looks like a beautiful place to live Daryl, really pretty with all the snow. We had some snow earlier but it’s been in the 30’s & 40’s for a couple weeks and raining for 2 days so the snow is gone. Seems the last decade or so we been getting more snow in late January and February. I’m in no hurry for it. The fire in the stove looks nice and cozy, nothing like the instant warmth of wood heat. I live in town now but grew up with wood heat and my Mom used a wood cook stove her whole life. I still help my brother cut and split firewood. I enjoy being out in the woods during the fall. Great way to live.

Jung, I like that train. It would be fun to take the ride around the park in the train looking at all the lights.

Daryl, I’m not sure if Chad had left the band or not before it was called The Guess Who. I think it was originally called Chad Allen and the Expressions before Burton showed up. Mona and Lisa talk about it on their WOTT video about American Woman. I remember The Guess Who mainly with Burton Cummings and Randy Bachman. Sounds like, according to Randy, they were all still friends, they just had different beliefs and couldn’t agree on the rock n roll lifestyle. Even Randy’s brother Tim left the original BTO line up because him and Randy couldn’t agree. I guess Tim liked to party a little. My niece met Tim Bachman once at Daytona Bike Week.

Another one that passed in the last few weeks was Chad Allan. One of the founding members of the band that would become The Guess Who. I read his memorial on Randy Bachman’s Facebook page.

Chris, Jung, It really was pretty with the big wet snowflakes falling amongst all the lights. Everyone was in a great mood, like Mona was talking about in the one livestream, sharing small talk with strangers is really pleasant this time of year. I am slowly starting to get into the Christmas spirit.

Jurgen, I’m watching Christmas Vacation right now, Lol. It’s my favorite Christmas movie. The sight gag that I think is so funny is Clark and Eddie drinking egg nog with the Marty Moose mugs he obviously got when they went to Wally World in the first movie.
