Great ones!
Steve Winwood is great on the Hammond. Here he’s with Clapton and Baker, Blind Faith at Hyde Park

Another one from “I Bought Myself A Politician” is
“And on a whim I also bought the opposition
It’s better to be safe, you never know
And then for even less
I also bought the press
To wrap it up and I was good to go”“How much information did they keep from you and me” (Jump Ship)
From John Lennon’s Gimme Some Truth
“I’m sick and tired of hearing things
From uptight, short-sighted, narrow-minded hypocrites
All I want is the truth
Just give me some truth”I find it amazing that the Twins, when English is not their native language, can go toe to toe with John Lennon who’s one of the greatest lyricists (sorry Bob Dylan)
And of course,
“It’s not red against blue
And not me against you.”When they’re keeping so much information from us, the truth is all that matters. I find it enlightening to find out when I’m wrong, like opening a door to a room I didn’t know was there, learning something new. For several years now, I have dedicated time to reading scientific papers to know what the truth really is, what information they are keeping from me, especially when some narrowminded hypocrite with “the necessary means to influence the worried teens” wants to Make Show. By the time 2020 came around I was glad to be a step ahead. To say that I’m disappointed is the mother of all understatements.
Two cents, 1) I agree with Jung (again) that bodily autonomy is a must for any free society. If the government can inject it’s population with whatever excuse they come up with, then all we have to look forward is Auschwitz. 2) the other cent goes to Peace. I don’t think we can physically force anyone to do what they don’t want. It’s a tough one because there are some exceptions, but without it there is no sovereignty.
Both the music and the Lyrics of the MonaLisa Twins give me such an uplifting and joy, especially in these times. 😊

Jeff was proof that the sound of a guitar is in the fingers, the rest is fluff.
Hopefully some in the Club 27 are already jammin’!

I think it’s a great song, and I add myself to the list to have the song re-recorded.
I feel the Livestream version is already a Duo Session version and it’s so nice in its casual feel with the background info pre and post. Maybe they can edit the song from the stream with a bit of dialogue and post it on YouTube in November as a promo for the next Advent calendar.
I think the song has plenty of quality for the full studio treatment.
Just my 2 cents!

I have stayed away from politics for decades, but I have been disappointed at how few artists have pushed back against the government overreach. I keep thinking, what happened to the hippie movement?
There are a few like Van Morrison <b style=”font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; color: var(–bb-body-text-color);”><yt-formatted-string force-default-style=””>What’s It Gonna Take? </yt-formatted-string>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=euvhN8lmxSg
and he also recorded with Clapton recently. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VrlPQIdA2js
<font color=”rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)” face=”inherit”>There’s also Tom MacDonald, though I don’t like his type of music (rap -nor his face </font>tattoos), but the lyrics are good<font color=”rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)” face=”inherit”>. </font>

It seems Make Show had a sudden drop last week, then the numbers plateaued?

Hi David, your predictions are extremely accurate. If I ever have some time, I will do some graphs as always something interesting comes up, like your October surprise.
As far as knowing the age, I’m afraid they know all about you, whether you “volunteered” it or not. They collect all public data and cross reference with phones, credit card, etc. So they know your age, address, family members, where you are/were at any given time, what you buy, what you watch, etc., etc. I don’t mean to be scary, but Apple requires you to have a valid credit card to use any of their devices, encourage face recognition, thumb print reading and they (Google/Apple/Meta/MS) have contracts with the government so they share information. 🤷♂️

Member01/02/2023 at 01:01 in reply to: What other songwriters go against the tyrannical narratives of our times? Thanks Tom, but I did grow up in a bilingual household. My mum would speak only English to us, so we (my siblings and I) learned both languages. It was more of a “curated” British English, than what a kid in Britain would learn, but still fluent. When I moved to the US 30 years ago, it seemed that I had to learn an entirely new language! I was teased for my pronunciations of aluminum and tomato 😂

Member09/01/2023 at 05:21 in reply to: What other songwriters go against the tyrannical narratives of our times? From what I’ve read, the last words of John to Paul were: “Think about me every now and then, my old friend.”
In 1981, just months after John’s assassination, Paul was recording Tug of War in Monserrat and invited Carl Perkins over. On the last day, Carl wanted to thank Paul and thought that it would be better to do it with a song. So he wrote “My Old Friend” that night. When he played it for Paul, Paul left the room in tears. Part of the lyrics were:
If we never meet again
This side of life
In a little while
Over yonder
Where it’s peace and quiet
My old friend
Won’t you think about me
Every now and then.Carl thought he had done something wrong, but Linda hugged Carl and explained the situation and John’s last words to Paul. Certainly a goosebumps inducing experience, as Carl did not know this.
I’ve interpreted the title “Still a Friend of Mine” as an extension of the words “Think about me every now and then, my old friend.” Meaning that despite that you’re gone -John-, you are still my friend, we still think of you.

Member08/01/2023 at 06:04 in reply to: What other songwriters go against the tyrannical narratives of our times?Jung, yes! great minds do think alike. John asked HOW?
How can I go forward when I don’t know which way I’m facing?
and the Twins ask WHY?
Still falling prey to lies and wolves in disguise
Also, Still a Friend of Mine reminds me of the Carl Perkins song “My Old Friend” which he wrote for Paul in Monserrat without knowing John’s last words to Paul. I’m sure this was part of the inspiration for the lyrics.

If you can share the numbers in an excel/ csv format, I can make graphs pretty easily.
