How lucky was JOHN to get to hang with Mona & Lisa?! I would have LOVED to be a fly on the wall in that studio!

“MLT Club members are top fans in our books”. Good, thank you Lisa! Because I don’t do facebook! Tried it MANY, MANY years ago and there’s just too much drama, etc. there. Plus it’s about as secure as a wet paper bag.

Hi Howard! Thanks, I’m hanging in there. I don’t go down easily. I appreciate the kind words from everyone. Enough of my problems, back to the original thread!

Hi Jung! I agree, there’s nothing like having a physical record or CD in your hands. It’s kind of strange downloading and listening to MP3’s or FLAC files to listen to music but that’s “progress” apparently. Of coarse I bought the MLTs albums on CDs. Eventually CDs will disappear I imagine like most records have. Probably not for awhile though. Although there ARE real record stores popping up around the U.S. again. I miss records, the music sounded better to me on records and the artwork was of coarse bigger easier to read.

Thanks Stephen. It seems that since I turned 60 last year all of a sudden my health started stinking. First I find out I have emphysema in one lung, then I find out I have “barrett’s esophagus”, then my gall bladder acts up and had to be taken out! A week or so after that I developed nerve pain in my right bicep and torso! YAY! It seems to never end. Anyway things are calming down a bit now finally. But yes, Mona and Lisa’s music/videos TRULY helped me through all of that. Medication is good but the best medication is MUSIC and these girls are medicine that is SO easy to swallow! I thank them SO much.

Hi Mike, I’ll check out those Epiphones. In the meantime I just ordered a Kala baritone ukelele to play with. Should be fun! They’re basically a small guitar without the low E and A strings.

Timely question Michael as I was thinking of getting a new acoustic. I have a REALLY old 70’s Martin Sigma DM4 I bought back in the early 80’s but the action is REALLY high. My main guitar is a 2006 Fender Telecaster. LOVE that guitar. I think I’ll check out that EJ 160E!

Jacki I know the feeling, I lost my mom 19 years ago and my younger sister 8 years ago. Both from cancer. But for me I’ve had several medical problems since last June (around the time I discovered them on Youtube) and the Twins have really helped me get through them with their music and videos. They were the best medicine for my head. Ear candy that’s SO sweet! I can’t thank them enough really for what they do.

The combination of their excellent singing and musicianship abilities and the sound of those guitars. The fact that they both play various instruments is a huge plus also, so talented! Their ability to write their own songs as well. Their cover songs are FANTASTIC and stay pretty true to the originals which for me is a big plus, I do like their arrangements of them as well.

Mainly here at the computer at home but also in my car’s CD player although I don’t drive as much as I did in the good old days (too many clowns on the road today). I just got my first “Smart” phone (a Samsung) so I suppose I’ll figure out how to load some MLT on that now as well. Better get a big SD card for it come to think of it!

Off the top of my head:
“And your bird can sing”.
“Windy” (The Association)
“Sunshine of your love” (Cream)
“Summer in the City” (Lovin’ spoonful)
“Turn, Turn, Turn” (The Byrds)

Jota,
Had the surgery last Thursday (5 days earlier than planned), I’m told it went well. BUT, they fill your abdomen area with Carbon Dioxide in order to work in there. That gas is supposed to be worked back out before closing you up, I had a lot still in me and it was VERY PAINFUL for about 2 days. Today (Monday) I am a bit sore but doing better. Can’t really do much physically yet but as usual Mona and Lisa’s music and videos are helping me through it all! They came out with that “If I fell” behind the scenes video which was a nice surprise for me to find after the surgery!
Anyways, back to recovering….

Man those Gibson J Series are a bit pricey! I can afford one but logically don’t know if I want to spend THAT much on an acoustic. I’m going to be 61 in early May and I’m a bedroom player. Something good in a $500 range or so I can logically go for. But thanks for the suggestions!
