Any Questions About Our Musical Influences? – Q&A Prompt

As we announced in our last Q&A video, you can start submitting questions for the next Q&A video! This time we want to keep it all about the music that inspires us.

It is no secret that 60’s music has made us fall in love with the idea of pursuing a musical career, and over the years we have covered dozens if not hundreds of songs by the bands we love.

We want to make the next Q&A about the music that has shaped us over the years, so if you can think of any questions on the subject, let us know!

  1. Usually the influence on original music is a combination of several artists. I am influenced even in covers by a combination of the Beatles, Stephen Stills, James Taylor, and Poco. Is the same true for your original music where it cannot be pointed to one artist but a combination of two or more? If so, then who would they be?

  2. Thanks, Howard. Typo fixed!

  3. I’m really looking forward to this Q&A. Cant wait to hear what people are going to ask & can’t wait to hear your insightful replies.

  4. Mona and Lisa,
My early inspirations was the Beatles, and songs from the 1960″s and then The Rolling Stones , Woodstock and Rod Stewart and the Faces from 1969 to 1974. I feel some music from the early 1970’s was a spill over from the 1960’s

  5. This is gonna be fun. Will put my thinking cap on! 🙂

  6. Well Mona and Lisa, the obvious one is the Beatles and I think we already know just about everything there. I guess we can get a good idea from your 2007 concert in Vienna where you performed such a variety of songs, including the Beatles, the Byrds, the Troggs, Eric Clapton, CCR, Santana, the Animals and Cat Stevens, of course Lisa.

We can add to that Steve Harley, John Sebastian and Lovin’ Spoonful, Donovan, the Kinks, the Who, Manfred Mann, Brian Wilson and Pink Floyd, to name a few. Now there are heaps of songs (especially sixties) that I would love you to cover, but as mentioned in “Ask the MonaLisa Twins” recently, would you care to elaborate on whether Budy Holly’s music has had much influence on you. He didn’t quite make the sixties, but as Lisa states, he did influence many, many sixties groups, and his music still has an impact today.

And may I add, the pedantic Howard wants to point out that a “to” has gone missing in your “We want make the next Q&A”.

    Peace and Love
    Howard
