Introducing The MLT Club

In recent years we have seen an uprising of crowdfunding platforms, fan-funded music projects and donation sites. Kickstarter, Pledgemusic, Patreon, the list goes on.

Although we never really warmed up to these formats, we’ve always been toying with the idea of creating our own special place in the world wide web to give fans a more in-depth look into our lives, projects & music and to stay in touch easier.

People also kept asking about how to best support us on this musical journey. So we decided to combine both and try and create our own version – something that would make the “community” experience even more special. We set up our very own membership space …

… Right here, on our website! 🙂

Since “MonaLisa Twins play Beatles & more” Vol. 1 (the blue one) came out in 2014 we have released countless more covers of our favourite songs on YouTube but never on CD. So many in fact, that they didn’t all fit on just one album. So we decided to cause some double trouble … 2 new CDs! This also left us with space to record quite a lot of new and so-far unreleased covers of some of our favourite songs. And you know how much we love doing that 🙂

ORANGE – OUT NOW!

September 29th, 2017 – ORANGE & 10 Years MonaLisa Twins 

Today is a MonaLisa Twins milestone in more than one way. Not only are we releasing our second originals album ORANGE and the music video to our single but we are also celebrating our 10 year anniversary of MonaLisa Twins. Who would have thought?

It has been a long and winding road, with many of you as our companions all along the way. Our sincerest thanks and appreciation for your trust in us, your continuous support and encouragement!

Today is the day we’ve all been looking forward to and working towards for a long time. To know that you guys, scattered all over the world and from all walks of life, are currently pressing the “play” button and getting to hear our latest creation sends shivers down our spines.
The album is now also available for download on our website, iTunes, Amazon and all other common digital music stores. However, of all these places, buying through our website is the best way to support us as we keep 100% of all earnings 🙂

In the future we would love to tell you some of the backstories to this album but for now we want to give you all some time to get to know the tunes and make up your own mind. Of course we are dying to hear what you think, learn about your favourite songs and anything else you have to say. We feel that on this special day we simply have to mention again how incredibly overwhelmed we were by the amount of pre-orders and your faith in us. Our estimated pre-orders had doubled before we even released the first single, and to us that means more than we can even put into words. Thank you for believing in us, for being on board and helping us paint the world ORANGE.

Of course we also want to point out the key role that our little team has played in the creation of this album. We are beyond proud of what we have achieved as a family and how our cottage industry/family business approach is working out and paying off. Our dad Rudi has played all the bass and piano parts and has produced, arranged and co-written all songs while our stepmum Michaela created the new website, all the new merch and everything in between. We did our bits in all departments, of course, and have learned a great deal again about business and how we can pick our way through the muddy territory. We’ve all worked our butts off, and getting the first bits of such overwhelming feedback for the new record thoroughly catapulted us to cloud 9. And we intend to enjoy the view for a while …

Now we’ll be quiet and let the music speak!

Waiting For The Waiter – New Single

New Single Release! 

Hey … hey, hey!
Our hearts are pounding as we are about to share the first new song of the album we have been working on for so long.
The wait is over… here comes the lyrics video for ”Waiting For The Waiter”.

We couldn’t resist putting a lyrics video together. It will shorten the time until the official album release and the production of the official “proper” music video is done. Because as you’ll be able to hear in the song, we’re not too fond of waiting …

The song will be on our upcoming album ORANGE. If you like it and want to secure yourself a signed copy (CD and vinyl available) you can pre-order now!

Featuring a very special guest …

We had great fun incorporating some classic blues elements on the new record, and while you may have heard us go in that direction during live shows occasionally it was new to us to capture it on record and in a song.

John Sebastian, the Woodstock legend and founder of The Lovin’ Spoonful (known for their hit songs like “Summer In The City”, “Daydream” and “Do You Believe In Magic”) is working his great blues harp magic on the track, which really gave it that final, special touch.
We initially didn’t think of asking John Sebastian to play on this one but when we heard what he came up with for our other song (you’ll hear it on the album) we knew we HAD to have him play on “Waiting For The Waiter” too.
We love his contribution and if you do, too, let us know and we’ll pass it on!

Why the 29th of September as the release date?

In the last newsletter we asked if anyone could guess why the album release date, the 29th of September, is so special to us. And a few of you actually guessed correctly!
The 29th of September 2017 marks the 10 year anniversary of us playing our first music performance (outside of school productions). Back then we were only 13 years old and we formed a family band to perform 24 of our favourite songs to about 140 people. We recorded it and turned it into our very first album: MonaLisa & Band Live in Concert 2007

It was the beginning of ALL THIS! We found it only fitting to release our next big milestone on exactly the same day, 10 years later. That’s nearly half our lives! And to know that we spent it not only pursuing our passion and dreams but also building this amazing, loving community around our music makes our hearts do somersaults. Thank you for believing in us.

We’ll leave you to it now and hope you’ll enjoy the new single. Please feel free to share it, send it to your favourite radio stations, blogs, magazines, facebook groups and help us get the ball, or should we say the ORANGE, rolling.

ORANGE Pre-Sale Start

The Pre-Sale for our new album ORANGE has now officially begun!

All pre-ordered CDs and Vinyl will be signed and amongst the very first to be shipped to arrive (as accurately as we can time it) on your doorstep on the day of the release: 29th September, 2017!
Together with the album, we created over 25 new merchandise items and packed them into bundles for 10% off, so have a snoop around the store and see what you can find.

First Live Shows Scheduled and More to Come!

Over the last weeks we have built quite a nice list of venues where we will play live concerts in the near future.

Including some open-air festivals! We are doing lots of rehearsals with our band right now and it is pure fun! We’re nearly ready for our first live shows. If you happen to be in Vienna and surroundings during the summer, why don’t you have a look at our event schedule and visit us? Indeed we have one overseas person confirmed already! You could definitely take us by surprise too.

In case you have friends in Austria (or surrounding countries) who could be interested in one of our concerts you can send them a note via our Facebook-Events. We created for people to easily invite their friends.

We proudly Present Our Debut Album “When We’re Together” (+ New Website)

Finally, after months of very intensive work, our debut album “When We’re Together” is out …

… and ready to order! We know, some of you have been awaiting it for a long time and we are SO excited to finally be able to share it with you. The CD contains 11 original songs which we wrote over the last two years. It was the first time we really got into song-writing and we are very pleased with the outcome. We even made a little trailer for you. Have a look to get an insight and idea of what the songs sound like.
Also welcome to our new website! Do you like the new design? It is all themed around the debut album. You can now watch all our videos, listen to the audio samples, buy your favorite CD and easily download the songs.

You can’t believe HOW glad we are to have come to the point where we can present you everything we’ve been working on for so long. We four went through a lot of rough times during both, CD and Website making. We thank our stepmum Michaela a whole lot for giving our website such a great makeover and our dad for his support in song-writing, the engineering and the producing of our CD.
