Over the last few weeks, we filmed/recorded a new batch of Duo Sessions which means we have enough for a new album! We even wrote a brand-new song for it which we’ll also perform during the Livestream on Sunday!

“Janitor Joe” now has his own movie. This video for a song off our most recent album “WHY?” was created by Natalie Palumbo, a motion graphic designer from New York. We first “met” (through the internet) a few years ago when Natalie sent us some really cool fan art. We kept seeing her great work from time to time and even ended up being involved in a project together when we were both included in the Beatles Fan Documentary “Here, There & Everywhere“. This video will be officially released two weeks from Sunday on September 3rd. Until then, please keep it exclusive for the MLT Club 🙂
We will soon post a little behind-the-scenes interview with Natalie. If there are any questions you’d like us to ask her in an upcoming Skype conversation, please leave them in the comments!
As has become a tradition, we made “Studio Scribbles” for this new release and they are ready to order! We put together handwritten lyrics/notes of the song in a hopefully visually pleasing way, got 100 of them printed and have numbered (1-100) and signed them all. So, as always, the quicker you order, the lower the “serial number”. 🙂
This video will be officially released next Tuesday, on the birthday of a friend of ours who passed away several years ago. He always believed in our music and supported our journey immensely.
We picked what we thought might have been his favourite song off the new album and are going to officially release it on his birthday on the 21st. It’s a tradition we’ve kept up for several years now and one we look forward to every year. We hope he would have liked it and we hope all of you do, too!
We filmed this video on Monday morning in the beautiful city of Chester about 30 minutes south of Liverpool. We love the architecture there with its half-timbered houses and impressive city walls. The pigeons were a nice bonus and we made sure to send our regards from Trudy, our pet pigeon. 🙂
We also made some new “Studio Scribbles” for the song! We couldn’t find too many scraps from the writing process so we decided to just re-write the whole lyrics on a blank sheet of paper and keep it simple and clean. We thought it kind of fitted with the song anyway 🙂
As always, they will be numbered (1-100) and signed by us.
Please note: We have had major postal troubles here in the UK, and if you live abroad and have ordered anything with us since the start of the year it has likely not arrived with you yet. There was a supposed cyber-attack on Royal Mail on January 10th which has caused the entire international branch to collapse. Only now are they slowly starting to reinstate alternative shipping methods and your parcels will finally be making their way through the system, but we couldn’t be more sorry about the delays.
Hopefully, things will improve from now on, and we are in the process of setting up a new (and more bulletproof) system for international orders so instances like this won’t be as detrimental for our shop anymore. This is now the 6th song off our new album WHY? that gets a video! We didn’t necessarily plan to do so many but we just can’t stop … we already have plans for a few more. 😉
“If You Raise Your Head” was penned during the second wave of lockdowns last year.
It’s the first time we have ever used a talk box on a recording, that’s the “thing” Lisa is using while playing her guitar solo. What’s happening here is that the sound of the guitar gets directed into Lisa’s mouth through a plastic tube where she can alter the way it resonates and therefore sounds by changing the shape of her mouth. The microphone then picks it up from there. You don’t see talk boxes around much anymore but we felt it fit the sound we were going for perfectly.
It’s also the first time we ever featured a Hammond rock organ sound so prominently in a song!
Most of you here in the MLT Club will have immediately known who this song is about! We can only imagine the faces of some of our more casual listeners when they come across this song at the very end of the “WHY?” album.
Of course, it’s about our little precious Neve, the rescued gosling.
We made a vlog about how we found her an then an update exclusively for the MLT Club about her journey into goose-adulthood at a farm. Neve has long flown off with her friend Frankie, and we can only imagine the trouble she’s getting herself in! Maybe we’ll hear all about it if they decide to return to the farm in spring.
Before we said goodbye to her, we asked her if she wanted to be on our new album. The fee negotiations were exhaustive, but she finally agreed to doing some guest vocals on a new song under the one condition that she could star in her very own music video. Who can say “no” to a cutie like her! So here it is! 🙂

Our “Questionable” video has just finished rendering and uploading to YouTube! We cannot wait to release it officially tomorrow, on Monday, but wanted to show it in the MLT Club first, even if it was just a few hours early.
The reason why its “official” release date is tomorrow is because February 21st marks the birthday of one of our earliest musical supporters, Steve from Miami. Some of you might have heard us talking about him in the past or have seen our cover of This Boy which we had recorded for him back in 2013.
Many years ago, we started a tradition to release a song for him on every birthday as a “Thank You” for his support, and we have kept that up even after his passing in 2018.
We think he would have really enjoyed the musical makeup of “Questionable” so we picked this one to release as a single on his birthday!
It has been a couple of years since we had involved other actors in a video shoot, so the filming for “Questionable” was an exciting and fun change. All the guys were a pleasure to work with, good sports and made the filming process a breeze.

Last Friday we hinted at a new song that we wanted to share with you in a few weeks’ time. Well, we finished it quicker than expected and didn’t want to hold it back any longer 🙂
So here it is, our new song “Questionable” which, just like our other recent original songs we posted to the MLT Club, will be part of our upcoming album.
We’ve now got 5 songs in the “Early Access” section plus a couple more that are already finished but that we want to keep a surprise until the album comes out (unless we change our mind). We feel good about that and hope to share more with you soon 🙂
