All I Want Christmas To Be – Early Access

The video for our new single “All I Want Christmas To Be” is ready!

Official Release Date: December 1

We just finished editing “All I Want Christmas To Be” and are so happy to share it with you here, before it gets released officially on December 1.

We had the absolute biggest luck filming this video. Not only were we fortunate that our parents had captured all this Christmas moments on film back in the day, but when we suddenly got snow in the UK last week – enough to turn everything into a winter wonderland for a few hours to give us the perfect video backdrop – we thought we were dreaming!

We were out and about for an early run last weekend when suddenly, out of the blue (or rather white), the rain started turning into snow and the world was transforming before our eyes. We had never seen such thick, fluffy snowflakes since we moved here, and it was only November! We rushed home, threw an outfit and makeup on, grabbed dad who grabbed the camera and headed out … well, you can see what that looked like in the video! 🙂

“All I Want Christmas To Be” describes what the holidays were like for us as children, full of magic and wonder. That day of filming surely felt reminiscent of that!

We hope you’ll enjoy the video, and if you’ve got a few minutes to spare we would love to hear what the holidays were like for you as a kid. Did you sing around the tree? Did you decorate the house? Who did you celebrate with?

We hope there will be a bit of magic in your weekend ahead!

Stay groovy,
Mona & Lisa

  1. Beautiful video and lovely song, it is the first time I see it.

  2. It’s hard to bear the excitement when watching this beautiful music video. For all of us who follow and appreciate Mona and Lisa, see that mix of images from when they were little girls and see how everyone is still wonderful people even though the years have passed is a beautiful and beautiful gift. I wish you all a Merry Christmas. Always with you. Jota

  3. As always from you two –
Outstanding – Truly and Groovily Outstanding !! – Thank you Mona and Lisa xxx

  4. We were five kids, and always started Christmas morning with our stockings. Lots of Hershey kisses in the holiday colored foil, crayons, and some candies that were of that time like those dots on paper and candy necklaces. That’s all we were allowed until our parents got up and we gathered around the tree, with my older sister passing out the gifts. I think tearing into those packages might have been as much fun as the gifts themselves.
My mom would make the Christmas breakfast, scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese, sausage, and popovers with butter and jam. Later we would go to my grandparents’ house for another round of gifts and a ham dinner. Their house wasn’t so large so we kids sat in the living room, at the card table that hadn’t seen any action since Thanksgiving.
But, between the breakfast and the dinner, we would go ice skating. We have a village green, part of which was plowed and flooded with water from a fire hydrant. A volunteer would get up all winter long in the wee hours to maintain our rink, and it was a gathering place as long as the ice held out.

I hope all have a great holiday season!

  5. One could say that the elements are in tune with the MonaLisa Twins. One could say that the MonaLisa Twins are in tune with the spirit of the universe. And nobody will prove that one wrong.

This is an astoundingly heartwarming song with all the spirit of the holidays and the video just fits so perfectly that it makes it more than just the sum of the parts. Truly, truly astounding.
    Absolutely love it! ?❤?‍♀️?‍???☮

  6. The beautiful snowfall that happened so you could make this wonderful video, shows that miracles never cease to exist like The MonaLisa Twins never cease to amaze. I have been listening to this song all weekend and it helped bring back a lot of Christmas memories of my youth, even the tongue on ice line, I think it took me a few more times before I stopped. To a Talented Musical Family Have a Happy Christmas! and remember a Family that plays together stays Groovy together!

  7. It’s so great. I usually don’t like Christmas song, but that one madr my day.

  8. Wow. Lit candles and sparklers on the tree. Is this common in Austria? If so, I’ll bet Christmas Eve is the busiest night of the year for fire fighters.

  9. What a wondetful video and I love the new Christmas classic you created! I especially love seeing the two of you back in the day when you were so young; little boobalees! It also is so very cool seeing Papa Rudi sporting the “doo” of the day. So heartwarming and beautiful.
I had a very wonderful childhood with many precious memories especially of the holiday season. We always spent Christmas with family, rotating the hosting each year from home to home, and including people we wouldn’t see often during the rest of the year. But one of the biggest parts of Christmas and also the most magical is that every year when the tree goes up and the music turns to holiday fare those beautiful memories flood back and bring the time and joy back to life making them so real again. As an only child fortunate enough to have very loving special parents each Christmas had its own personality and lives on forever with me. Goodwill to all and Merry Christmas ladies!??⛄

  10. I’m stunned with emotion! The song, the video, it’s so moving and heartwarming. Instantly brings back those heartfelt moments of my own childhood Christmas magic and love. You really know how to touch and move with your music. It brings back the wonder and magic of Christmas as we experienced it as children. Thank you! If this isn’t music making genius, I don’t know what is.

In the video loved the, bright eyes full of wonder and amazement moment as you are both led in front of the Christmas tree I presume. The lovely sound of laughing laying in the snow while skiing, that cute moment with Papa Rudi helping you both with the snowman, and many years later as adults, seeing you both walking in the snow and singing with the love and bond you both share brightly shining, are all so touching.

Christmas at the Roe residence always started with the going up and decoration of the Christmas tree and lights around the house a couple weeks before Christmas. It was usually me stringing all those outdoor lights over all of the shrubs and small trees in the yard, with my mom directing the decoration and which string of lights went on which tree. In the end we had a brightly lit front yard that stood out in the neighborhood we were both proud of. It was all the days leading up to Christmas that were special, the shopping, Christmas music playing everywhere you went, Christmas plays and carols we did at school, storing up on all the snacks and treats. Christmas eve was usually all of us 5 siblings and my parents enjoying all the snacks, listening to Christmas records and watching classic Christmas shows or movies on TV. Sometimes dad would take us out in the car to see the Christmas lights around town listening to Christmas carols in the car. Then of course opening of the Christmas presents Christmas morning or Christmas Eve were the best. On Christmas day, we usually had our cousins over for Christmas dinner, and my mom would go all out preparing the biggest and most delicious dinner anyone could imagine. The 2 weeks around Christmas and New Years was indeed special and magical. It was all of those little moments Christmas brought that together made it so very special and memorable. Your Christmas album brings all those joyful memories and feelings back to remind of Christmas’s past and how Christmas can still be.

  11. Great video. Good thing you can get the weather to help out. All that global warming falling from the sky makes this really seem like Christmas early.

  12. Thank you Papa Rudi for saving such amazing video of your phenomenal young ladies. Mona and Lisa, you are just as sweet as your childhood selves and we all love you even more with your magical musical talents at the height of their powers to produce a song of such joy and happiness and the magic of Christmas. God bless the Wagner family and Merry Christmas to all

  13. You made cry again.. a good cry.. those tears that come when the soul is happy.

  14. OMG ..Wonderful .. thanks for sharing your ancients Christmas with us.. All I want Christmas to be?..I want everyone to have a great Christmas as your beautiful song says.. thanks Wagner family..thanks dear girls ?❤

  15. Snowflake + Eyelashes = Extra Big Smile. The collection of beautiful things grows…

  16. Absolutely wonderful song and video. You two (four) are amazing! This is as classic of a beautiful Christmas song as has ever been written.

  17. Well, “All I Want Christmas to Be” and this heartfelt video is ALL THAT I WANT CHRISTMAS TO BE! And it WILL be thanks to you two amazingly beautiful, magical, musical Marvels. You have managed to pull that deeply felt, indescribable joy of Christmas right out into the open in all of its glory. What a precious gift from you. One that will repeat itself year after year and become part of what the meaning of Christmas is to me. May the true joy of Christmas remain yours and all of the Wagner family’s throughout this holiday season and every day of the years ahead.

  18. that was beautiful, brings tears to my eyes, reminding me of past experiences lived and to be lived, Merry Christmas to you all , I really liked that you’all recorded an xmas album / the song “Walking in the Air” fantastic

  19. Now I’m sure what I like better……the video or the song??? Really puts the candle on the cake(or angel on the tree). Seeing the videos of you two growing up reminds me so much of me & my twin brother. He’s my best friend, I’m sure just like you two are besties!!!!

  20. Brilliant, as I said before on your Christmas Album release, this is a wonderful heartwarming tune that deserves to be on the regular Top radio Christmas playlist’s. I truly hope you get the exposure it deserves and claims it’s rightful place on the annual Christmas favourites. As for the video, having two daughters myself who grew up in the Warwickshire countryside it was almost like watching a re run of our family cine films.

    Thanks for the memories XX

Wishing you all a very happy and successful Christmastime

    P:)

  21. While you played the part of beautiful little Christmas elves with so much innocence and wonder I want to say “Bless You” to the original videographer. Without their desire to remember “on film” the crazy and wonderful early days of their children these magnificent memories wouldn’t exist for us to see. Listening and watching this video, with leaking eyes, stirs memories like you wouldn’t believe. Thank you so much for sharing this song and your childhood memories with us. When I was small we had no camera. No pictures of me as a little guy. We did have a tree every year and I have good memories of Christmas. We didn’t have much money but we were a loving family. One thing is for certain. You two are extra special to everyone that knows and loves you. I’m so glad to be a member of that society.

  22. OH MY! That old footage really tugs at my heartstrings! SO CUTE! What a wonderful video for a wonderful song!!! WOW! Who’s cutting onions in here?!

  23. What a cute, precious, beautiful, heartwarming and uplifting video!
It is my new favorite video! ? And, it will fill me with Joy throughout the holidays and beyond. Perfect! Absolutely perfect! It couldn’t be more perfect. What a joy to watch.
Merry Christmas and lots of love! Best wishes for the new year and the future.

  24. Awwwww… How perfect is this video for the song?!… Quite… Thankyou for the Little Ghosts of Xmas Past…. Indeed, you enjoyed the time back then as you still do now.
Christmas was always an important time of year for me and my family, my Aunt(Dad’s big sister) and her family for many years as with our family, exchanged celebrating Xmas/New Year’s Day at each other’s homes for the day and following year would alternate, etc… I was was the early bird riser Xmas morning, had to see what Santa left, etc…. Impatient to wait for others to get up so I could begin opening gifts, whereas my Aunt, even when Xmas at our house had a rule, couldn’t open gifts until after Xmas Meal was done with at noontime-ish, dishes done up… Talk about teaching patience to an already wound up kid… Lol… That tradition got changed after Mom got sick and my Aunt divorced my Uncle and continued having it at her place for a spell, we stopped having them after Mom got sick, I started going out to country on my cousin’s farm if my oldest brother and his family weren’t having our Xmas Day that day and had it Boxing Day instead. But… The last few Xmases with Dad and his ill health, in particular the last Xmas he spent alive was memorable as he sadly passed that January of 2011 (My Bday). I still own a few of the old Xmas tree ornaments from over 50 yrs ago. I’m known for my fudge I have to make every year at Xmas for family as a tradition I started years ago, one year forgot, never let me forget it… Lol.. Now it’s made every year… Going back to this video (sorry got off track), you definitely captured the Essences of Christmas with this song and video and that is the greatest Gift you can give to All of Us in such Postivity MLTBuzzing Groovy Festive Fab Light, Kudos and Merry Christmas and to a Groovy 2020?☮️???

    1. Whoops… I forgot to add a special add on re: my late Mom,… During her last 10 yrs spent living in a longterm care hospital unable to do anything (post surgery stroke rendering her speech affected, paralyzed right side, some brain damage), we as a family, would go spend 2 hrs with her Xmas Day… She cried, hummed /sang tunes not words of Xmas songs if we sang to her. She either be in bed or up in a wheelchair, cherishing those last 10yrs of Xmas with her, not always pleasant visits but we tried our best to have her enjoy 2vhrsvofcQuality Xmas Day time before we headed out to my Aunt’s or cousin’s farm on Xmas Day ??☮️

  25. I Love you two. What a sweet song, and the video is a great journal of Christmasses past.

  26. A well written song one of my favorites on the Album Christmas

  27. Great music and video. It’s funny, it’s Summer in Christmas here in Brazil and we have a little snow, once in a while, in the Winter in the South of the Country. I have never seen or felt the snow, but the image I have from Christmas there’s always snow involved. When I was a child and I still had my sweet mum, we used to put cottons over the Christmas tree brunchs to simulate snow. Look what your song did. I also got back to my childhood. Music has this power, there’s no time or place, we travel to a perfect world.

    1. I meant “Christmas tree branches”.

  28. Absolutnie dodatkowa klasa
    1000x Dziękuję

Deutsch: absolut extraklasse tausend mal danke

  29. Thank you for your lovely songwriting, and for sharing with us. 😀
Please, keep up this great work. I will be waiting for your next album of your own music…

And yes, how lucky with the snowfall indeed. :O Snow in the UK… in November? Wow.

  30. Awww, ladies what a magical video.( would not be surprised to see it go viral)
The green door from Won’t You Listen Now, the rabbit from your Easter video, your not so little cousin, your grandmother, members of your family, an unplanned and magical snowstorm, and very special memories for you.
As for me we usually traveled to Nashville, Tennessee as we lived in New Orleans, Louisiana, Or Chicago Illinois, or Memphis Tn ( we lived 3 blocks from Elvis) one year we All got sick. Both parents, brother, sister, and myself. Usually had snow for Christmas.
One year the snow was so bad, and kept snowing, that we got snowed in till New Years. 6 cousins having a blast while 4 parents climbing the walls.
Wonderful memories of a very special time gone by. Now my daughter and sister and I get together. Ocassionally my brother joins in. (He’s a minister)
But where ever we are we make sure to wish each other Merry Christmas.
Thanks you ladies for special memories young and old alike.
Much love and all the best to each of you during this holiday season and year round.

  31. You two were such cute little kids!!! But, I’m kinda partial that way because not too many years ago we had two little daughters running around our homes here in the US. Christmas memories for me: a steady stream of extended family (aunts, uncles, cousins) dropping by the house on Christmas Eve just to visit and drink coffee and assorted other beverages, house decorated like a little Christmas store, fantastic odors coming from the kitchen because my mother would bake dozens and dozens of cookies from scratch, and various colored packages under the tree just begging to be opened. A simpler time and also a time never to happen again,

  32. Lovely, Christmas past, Christmas present, with Christmas future hope. Wonderful video with the cherished story of Christmas.

  33. Wow! Just fabulous Mona and Lisa. How fortunate we all are to have had your parents around with a camera to share such delightful photos of a very young Mona and Lisa with us. You have truly captured your young Christmas joy in your beautiful song. The timely snow in the video just adds that something very special to what is fast becoming a standard Christmas song. ?❤️
