Winter & Christmas 2019 – Photos

Some impressions from our “Winter holidays break” 2019. Although we’ve come together a few times (in the UK and in Austria) it was the first time ever since we moved to the UK that we spent Christmas together with our family.

Having a week of quality time with them to unwind, eat good food, be in nature and catch up on life was much needed and gave us a good refuel to start off 2020 energised.

Mother Nature didn’t give us a White Christmas but we got a light powdery coating a few days after. Hey, we’ll take it! 🙂

All I Want Christmas To Be – Our New Christmas Single

Is Christmas still how it used to be …

For many, us included, Christmas always stood for a time of magic and wonder, playtime and adventure. Born and raised there, we firmly believed in our Austrian version of Santa Claus. Instead of Father Christmas, every household gets a visit from the “Christkindl”, a golden-locked, angel-like figure packing presents underneath brightly decorated Christmas trees.

We believed in elves, fairies, reindeer and magic. Somehow more things became possible when the fairy lights went up and the rooms started smelling of cinnamon and oranges. When writing “All I Want Christmas To Be” we went back to that time … when Christmas (at least for us kids) didn’t mean stress, spending money on obligatory gifts, being pestered by cheesy commercials and trying to avoid hearing “Last Christmas” for the hundredth time.

We hope you enjoy the video we put together for the song, and if you like it, would encourage you to share it with your friends and maybe send them back down memory lane to their own childhood Christmas experiences!

We also wouldn’t mind you sending it to your favourite radio station, sharing it on Social Media or adding it to the playlist of your nearest Christmas market 🙂 We would also love for you to leave a comment underneath the YouTube video or in the comments section on our website ♥ Thank you, guys and have a lovely start into the Christmas season!

Snow Falls Softly At Night – New Video

Greetings, Everyone!

Are you beginning to feel festive? Maybe the cups of teas are getting more frequent, the cinnamon candles are replacing the tropical smells, and you’re sneaking in the first Christmas deco pieces? Here’s a video to suit the mood 🙂

“Snow Falls Softly At Night” (originally titled “Leise Rieselt Der Schnee”) is a German traditional song that you can find on our CHRISTMAS album we have released less than two weeks ago.

It’s the only song on the album that includes some lyrics in our mother tongue, so if you were ever curious what we sound like in German, now you know: 🙂

Don’t worry, we switch to English halfway through!

We hope you enjoy and as always, stay groovy!

‘CHRISTMAS’ Album Pre-Order

Pre-Orders start TODAY // Release Date – November 1

We know, it’s still September but things are about to get Christmassy!

We are finally able to announce that we will release a Christmas album this year, and pre-orders are starting … TODAY!

About ‘CHRISTMAS’

As many of you know, it’s become somewhat of a tradition to release a new Christmas song for you every year. This year we decided to take it up a notch and release a full album!

It will simply be called ‘CHRISTMAS’ and is going to include covers of well-known Christmas songs – traditional and contemporary – as well as an original song called ‘All I Want Christmas To Be’.

We’ve experimented quite a lot with quirky instrumentation and arrangements, some jazzy vocal and guitar parts and other somewhat unusual approaches to some of your favourite Christmas songs. The last thing we wanted to do was to walk down the beaten track and create a “normal” Christmas album.

All that being said, rest assured there will be a fair share of jingle bells, Holiday cheer and tranquil moments on this album to go along with the more “out there” parts.

As you know, these things take some preparation, so we have spent a lot of the Summer, including the hottest days of the year, recording Christmas songs in our boiling hot studio (by British standards anyway 😉 ).

Pre-Order & Shipping

If you decide to pre-order ‘CHRISTMAS’ or any of the bundles available on our webstore, this is what you’ll get:

  • Your order will include a Christmas card from us.
  • You will be amongst the very first to listen to the new album. Right when the clock strikes midnight (GMT) on November 1 we will send out the download versions of the album while your physical CD might still be on its way to you.
  • The download package will provide you with MP4, FLAC, and m4a files, as well as the album artwork including the lyrics of our original.
  • The latest shipping date for all pre-orders is October 31. We aim to send off international orders slightly in advance so that they will arrive roughly around the release date (not guaranteed though).
  • That means your album(s) will arrive well in time for the Holiday season. Even if you’re in a more remote location or post offices/carriers mess up, you’ll still have the album(s) in your hands before the Christmas mail chaos sets in.

Want to get your album signed?

If you’d like your album signed or a special note or name written on your CD, maybe as a Christmas present for yourself or someone else, join the MLT Club. As always, all Club Members’ pre-orders will get signed automatically. For special dedications on your albums simply leave a message for us in the “order notes” field.

In the months ahead, we’ll also be posting lots of extra content around ‘CHRISTMAS’ in the Club, like making-of videos and exclusive Christmassy content. So now is definitely a good time to try it and join us for the Christmas party warm-up. 🙂

We’ve had so much fun working on this record and are especially proud of the original song on the album. We can’t wait for you to hear it and promise a lot more original music to come.

We’ve hinted on a new self-panned record for a while which obviously had to take the backseat for this Christmas album.

We hope it is going to add a whole lot of joy to your Holiday season this year and already want to thank everyone who decides to order ‘CHRISTMAS’.

Take care, take a few risks and of course … stay groovy,
Mona & Lisa

Video Shoot – Leise Rieselt Der Schnee – Photos

We hope everyone had a fab start into the New Year and that you haven’t caught yourself writing 2018 instead of 2019 too many times yet.

We’ve been taking a little bit of a breather over the last few days to let the Christmas business ring out, and the New Year ring in with some good ol’ New Year’s resolutions and mapping out the upcoming months ahead.

We’re also starting to get back to everyone in the “Ask MLT” Forum again. Thanks for the many interesting questions that keep coming in, we’ll answer as many as we can over the next few days.

Before we completely miss the season of when posting wintery Christmassy photos is acceptable, we want to share a few snaps of when we filmed the video for “Leise Rieselt der Schnee“.
Chilly greetings and see you soon with another photo post from the archives,

Mona & Lisa

Christmas Performances 2001

A long, long time ago …

… little Mona and Lisa scored the role as two snowflakes in our village’s Christmas “musical”.

Mona sang a bit flat and Lisa forgot to twirl at one point.

The other segments were filmed during our annual school performances that our class did each year. We came across it while going through our video archive and suddenly felt for all of you who had to sit through their children and grandchildren’s school performances this month. We hope you’re ok!

It got us thinking of all our former class mates, what they are doing now, thinking about the different life and career paths everyone decided to follow. It’s crazy how this bunch of kids all turned into adults now with complex lives and histories.

If ever there is an acceptable time to get nostalgic, we think Christmas is it! Do you still have memories from when you were in primary school? We’d love to hear your favourites if you don’t mind sharing. 🙂

Big hugs,
Mona & Lisa
